doTERRA®️ Wintergreen essential oil is sourced through Co-Impact Sourcing®️ in Nepal.

The essential oil is steam-distilled from the leaves of the wintergreen plant. The leaves are hand-collected by harvesters (primarily women) in the rural Nepalese mountains, who transport the wintergreen leaves in a large basket held in place on their backs by a strap around the forehead.

The women sell the raw material to small-scale distillers, located near the wintergreen sourcing forests. The leaves soak in warm water overnight before being steam-distilled for 14 hours or more.
Through Co-Impact Sourcing efforts, Wintergreen can be enjoyed in homes around the world while also supporting harvesters and distillers.

The doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation®️ has funded several projects to improve the lives of sourcing communities in Haiti:

• Clean water systems, including three hurricane-resistant water stations. These water stations reliably provide life’s most precious resource to thousands of families in the Les Cayes area.

• A new foundation, retaining wall, 10 classrooms, toilets, basketball court, and utilities for a local school of 132 students. Furniture and school supplies were also provided for each student.

• A vetiver warehouse that serves as a gathering point and office for cooperative members, as well as a place to safely store harvested vetiver roots—increasing the capacity for harvest collection and improving delivery times.

•With Rapha International, the construction and opening of a state-of-the-art aftercare center in Haiti that provides rehabilitation for children rescued from s*x trafficking.
