Join us online, through Zoom, for this month's meeting of the Denney Whitford / Raleigh West Neighborhood Association Committee (NAC) on Thursday, February 8th 7 PM. As always, we will hear timely updates from our agency partners, such as the Beaverton Police Department, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, and Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District. Also, THPRD will be presenting about a proposed local option levy, which will be on an upcoming May ballot. Finally, we will be visited by Beaverton Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteers to receive a timely presentation on how you can prepare for winter emergencies.

Join us tomorrow in person at Whitford Middle School for a presentation regarding Beaverton's Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) on how the city prioritizes and funds capital improvement projects and provide feedback on that process, as well a fun "Library 101" presentation about new services and programs at the library and how the library is expanding its outreach and engagement with the community. You won't believe all the services the library offers!

Lastly, this month we will be hosting our annual board elections. This is a great opportunity to take on a leadership position in your neighborhood! Time commitment is only a couple hours a month. Free trainings and ongoing city support for all volunteers.

The City of Beaverton is considering changes to the Shelter Code to allow permanent shelters and determine how they should be regulated. Currently, Beaverton’s Development Code (land use rules) allow emergency shelters (like for extreme weather conditions), but permanent or year-round shelters are not allowed.

The city wants to hear from you on the best approach for Beaverton. Share your thoughts by taking the survey at the link below on the three alternatives being considered. Survey closes February 25.

A new state law requires that cities like Beaverton allow more different kinds of housing in neighborhoods where only one house per lot is currently allowed. The Housing Options Project will determine where and how additional housing types will be allowed in Beaverton's residential areas.

Join project staff TONIGHT for a live presentation from 6-7pm over Zoom to learn more about different ways the city can allow more housing choices and provide your ideas on how this should work.

Changes are coming to SW Allen Blvd./SW 92nd Ave!

Next Wednesday, August 12 at 6pm the city will be hosting a virtual presentation to go over proposed plans to fill an approximate 500ft gap in the Fanno Creek Trail and improve safety and connectivity for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists along Allen Blvd. City staff and the project consultants will talk about the proposed design, which includes a roundabout at SW Allen Blvd./SW 92nd Ave, and answer questions from the audience.
