Congrats to Councilman Ernest Montgomery on his re-election to his seat in Calera. Thank you for being such a great servant leader and example!!!
Let me just say again how grateful I am to live in such a wonderful city like Montevallo. I appreciate every person who has encouraged or supported my 1st run at public service and make the promise to my fellow neighbors and citizens that I will continue to do my part in making Montevallo better for all of us. I want to also congratulate my opponent Mr Rusty Nix on a well run campaign and for his success as the re-elected representative for our district. He has served our community well in the past and I am sure he will continue to do so these next 4 years.
Congratulations again to all the other winners of the day Mayor Hollie Cost, Tiffany Bunt, and Matt Walker. I'm so proud of each of you. Job well done guys.
Today is the day!!! Use your voice!
As I prepare to retire for the night I feel the need to express my gratitude again for the opportunity to be considered for the office of public service in my hometown . I honestly know that I am a work in progress and I don't get it right 100% of the time, but I do work everyday to be better today than I was the day before.
I ran this campaign with only two small donations and the help of a few friends, my husband, and my four children. We didn't have a lot of time or money, and absolutely no professionals working for us. What we did have is a few hours squeezed in between basketball workouts, volleyball practices, weekend Army National Guard Drills, back-to-school shopping, weekly Bible Study, meet the teacher and open house events, weekly worship service and all the other non scheduled events that claim the attention of a pastor's wife and mother. In other words I did it all because I want to serve my ctity.
It really is that simple for me. I appologize for any mistakes and misteps along the way but I want each of you to know that any mistakes that were made were made because sometimes I do take the "S" off my chest. LOL

Joyce Jones for Montevallo City Council Dist 1
Today I am excited to announce my candidacy for the Montevallo City Council, District 1 seat. I humbly ask for your consideration and support.
I am proud to call Montevallo home for my entire life. It is the place my husband, Michael, and I fell in love, and it is also the place we choose to raise our four beautiful children.
I have witnessed first-hand the changes within our city throughout the last 40 years, and the challenges we have faced with continuing to be relevant in this new millennium. It is because of these changes and challenges that I believe my servant's hearts and compassion for my fellow citizens of Montevallo would make me an asset to the City Council.
I have the potential to bring to the Council several diverse experiences which demonstrate my ability to lead and serve in different capacities. These experiences include serving on the local library board, youth recreation programs, school PTO and committees, as well as my years of experiences in Higher Education.
I have a proven ability to collaborate and communicate with civic, educational, and religious leaders. However, I am most passionate about bridging the gap between local government and the everyday citizens of Montevallo.
I would cherish the opportunity to serve this great community and the wonderful citizens of Montevallo.
Vote Joyce Jones--Fresh Voice, Old Values, New Vision!
