Today makes 5 days in a row of morning workouts! It also means quite a few on-the-go nursing sessions, several backseat poopy diaper changes, and at least one emergency full outfit change. I’ve been sprayed with sunscreen, bug spray, and some spit-up too. To say I’m exhausted is NO JOKE. But I’m so glad I got out there to get my sweat on, connect with my mommy crew, and enjoy some fresh air.
If you’re a new mommy, my advice is to get out there! It’s sure to be a lesson in patience and flexibility but so worth it. And if you’re nearby and want to join me, let me know! I’d love to sweat with you.
Rewarding myself with some pool time after another nearly 500-calorie-burn workout. It was so steamy at the park this morning but this berry tea and breeze are making it all worth it.
A sleeping babe plus a 500-calorie burn made for an amazing start to this Monday. It is truly my favorite way to start the day. .
I was decked out in pink gear to stay cool on this scorcher of a day. This Chilly Pad was awesome to wrap around my neck as we strolled around the park between circuits. And the little mister was an awesome refresher too.
What’s your favorite way to stay cool outdoors?
🔥
Had to finish my last circuit and stretch at home among the playthings today because Emma girl needed to nurse at the end of Stroller Barre class.
But what a great class it was! 400+ calories burned with an amazing instructor who spoiled Emma by holding her during class. Nothing like demonstrating workout moves with a 13lb weight in your hands!
So lucky for this community that totally gets motherhood and all its daily ups and downs.
This week I had a moment where I felt like I was THAT mom. The one whose kid wails all class long. The one who really should have stayed home to let her baby eat or sleep. The one who wondered if she would have cried at home anyway. The one who questioned if she’s being selfish by going to a workout class each morning.
But I got up and out of the house both days after that mommy guilt trip. And you know what I found? Every mom feels that way one day or another. And the best remedy is to be with other moms who get it, who are going through it with you, and who can reassure you that it’s all okay.
I need these workouts as much for my mental health as my physical! So today I sweat it out with 25+ moms and a full chorus of whiny babes. And it was just what I needed.
These are seriously delicious, actually healthy, and only require 6 ingredients:
•Oats
•Applesauce
•Cinnamon
•Salt
•Dark chocolate chips
•Pecans
The perfect no-guilt weeknight dessert. (I bet they’d be good for breakfast too!)
Let me know if you want the full recipe!
Emma definitely can’t read the letters on my shirt. And honestly, even if she could, she’d probably still be way more concerned about the food source underneath 🤣 But I believe that the messages we put out in the world, the thoughts we think, and things we say about ourselves truly matter. What we think about, we bring about. 💕 And it is my mission to fill my little girl’s world (and mine) with words of positivity, self-worth, and gratitude. Today and everyday, we are blessed.
Let me tell you- I have never experienced such a sense of community until I became a mother. From those knowing looks as my baby wails at the pool to reassurances of “I’ve been there” at the park. I feel like those mamas have got my back.
Then take today at Stroller Strides class, when I missed a set of arm exercises while attending to a wet diaper. I decided to skip the next set of strolling laps so I could get those missed reps in. Emma was still fussing so another mom in class jumped right in and volunteered to take her for a stroll while I continued to work my bis and tris. I felt so grateful for this small gesture!
In becoming a mother, I have found my tribe.
Striding into the weekend in our matching purple outfits.
Went to class today inside the Garden State Public market. Anyone else been there? It’s such an interesting space with food stands, artwork, and seriously IG-worthy backdrops.
I haven’t been feeling 100% and I think I finally have it figured out- I am dehydrated! Between nursing, warmer temps, more exercise, and coffee- I need more water. So I took it easy today, played a lot with my Emma girl, and tried to gulp back as much H2O as I could.
Loving these summer colors of my new pants for this summer weather! We enjoyed a hot and buggy workout in the park today (with one slight pause for nursing- babies need extra hydration on hot days too!). Then we cooled off by the pool.
Emma was looking so cute in her sunhat! But she’s really glad her stroller fan is arriving soon. She needs some extra cool breezes on these hot days!
In just a few short weeks, working out with has been the best thing for my body, mind, and mommy social life. Today it was made even better when I won this swag bag! Thanks so much!
I feel like the weather can’t decide whether to be hot or cold. But I’m channeling the warm springy vibes and having a post-Strides smoothie. Banana, mango, spinach!
So this walk did NOT happen today. We got to the end of the street and the rains came. Motherhood (and Mother Nature) seems to be all about rolling with the punches.
It would be so easy to make it look perfect on social media. But you know that cute car pic yesterday? Only made possible by 2 front seat nursing sessions and 2 diaper changes in the trunk.
I intend to keep it as real as possible here. There may be perfect moments but there are no perfect days. I’m embracing it all. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Emma girl and mommy cooling off in the car after a sweaty Stroller Strides class with . Felt so good to get in an early morning sweat sesh. Plus I got two hats for future outdoor workouts.
While I haven’t been doing all my toning exercises lately, I have been loving my daily walks. And with a view like this, what’s not to love. Fresh air, sleeping baby, swans swimming. I’ll take this every day of the week!
My sweet girl got her 2 month shots today, and she was NOT happy. Lucky for both of us, it is an absolutely gorgeous day. So we went for a big long walk in the sunshine. Mama got her steps in while baby girl slept. A win-win for us all.
Today Emma and I reunited with all of our prenatal class friends for our first Stroller Strides class. It was so fun to see all the new babies and to enjoy this gorgeous summer-like weather. I definitely got my sweat on out there!
Only got through 2 of 4 leg day circuits, but after a busy weekend this little girl is all about snuggles and snacking today. I’m all in on snuggles over squats any day. And there’s always tomorrow.
Mom joined me for my Friday full body today! Family fit time 😀🏋🏻♀️🏋🏻♀️
Well that’s one way to do the laundry! Had to get creative today for my inclined push-ups, but this ended up being the perfect height. Arm Day ✔️
I guess starting the day with spit-up all over is as good a reason as any to get into my workout clothes right away.
Yep, that’s my newly created laundry on the floor. Including our fave boppy pillow 😫 I better wash that fast!
Can you spot Emma playing in the background? She just recently started looking and talking to herself in the mirror. So cute!
Seriously so thankful today. Even as I’m about to dive knee-deep into folding laundry. I’m blessed beyond measure to have this laundry-producing love bug in my life. I’m blessed to have the time off of work to put in an extra load each day. I’m blessed to have this sunny weather for line drying. Even on laundry day, it’s a good good life.
Making it happen on Monday morning!
Busy and exciting week over here. The office is being painted, furniture delivered, cleaning lady helping us big time, parents arriving, and family celebrating our little lady. But I still plan to get in my MWF naptime sweat sessions! Plus walks outside in this finally beautiful spring weather!
Who’s got goals this week?

Another nap time workout in the books! Two things that seriously motivate my workouts...
1. A plan- I need to know when I plan on getting it done. Of course, Emma might dictate otherwise, but I’m at least going into my week thinking I’ll workout MWF during her longer morning nap at around 10:30am. Even if that changes,it helps having the goal set.
2. Amazing music- It makes such a difference. I like filling my Spotify playlist with feel good songs and lots of Bruno Mars.
What’s one song you must have on your workout playlist?
Arm workout done ✔️ during nap number 2 😴
It’s been a looong time since this mama’s done push-ups and I already know my arms are gonna be shaky when I shampoo my hair later...please tell me you know what I’m talking about?!

It’s amazing what our bodies can do! So proud and in awe of what women are capable of. Ready to do this transformation in reverse!
Baby girl loves napping on rainy days just like her mama. But on this Monday 7 weeks PP, this new mama got her first sweat session in during nap time!
I’ve decided to follow post-pregnancy program on the app. I love the so much and I know that this slow re-entry back into working out will be just what I need. One of the biggest challenges I foresee is actually taking it slow enough to allow my body to readjust. But just like I had to learn about my pregnant body, this new will take some getting used to too.
If you’ve read this far and want an accountability partner, let me know! Any program, any style- just someone who will be there as an enthusiastic motivator and !
