We met on Sunday for our final service with the Church building in its current state. We are moving temporarily into the hall in the Sunday School building for Sunday Worship. Significantly the theme was The Body of Christ, united by the One Spirit.
"The church is not a building or a place where people meet; it doesn't have to have a tower or wooden pews or seats. The church is made of people just like you and just like me. It's another name for God's family" (lyrics by Paul Crouch and David Mudie)

Exciting times as the move into the hall has begun. The builders will be in next week. Pray for the work on the church building and the sale of the Sunday school building please.

We held a quiz evening on Saturday night to support Christian aid. This was well attended and the hall was full. A delicious supper of jacket potatoes and a variety of fillings was served to everyone, followed by bite size yummy cakes. The evening raised £485, this included a raffle and a paper quiz for people to take home and return by the end of the month. There will be further events during Christian Aid week such as coffee mornings with cake stalls and envelopes in which to put monetary gifts.
St Peter's would like to thank all the Skipton and Crosshlls shops who were very generous donating food for the event and raffle prizes. A huge thank you to everyone who helped with the event in any way. Without you all, the event could not have taken place.

On Sunday 7th May at 10.30 am, why not come and find out what "The Lord's my Shepherd" (Psalm 23) actually means and why Jesus calls himself ""the Good Shepherd" as well as describing himself as "the gate" to the sheepfold. Did you know that shepherd in Israel don't use sheepdogs?🤔

So what happened over Easter weekend? On Good Friday, local churches joined in a Walk of Silent Witness, each
group carrying a large wooden cross leaving from St. Andrew's church
Kildwick, St. Thomas's church Sutton, and Glusburn Institute Glusburn.
There was a good crowd from each departure point, more people joining en
route, all meeting at St. Peter's church Crosshills for a short service
at the bottom of the drive, led by Rev. Robin Figg of St. Andrew's.
After this, everyone congregated in St. Peter's church for a
continuation of the outdoor service, this time led by Paster Rob Harris
from Sutton Baptists and Rev. Peter Bedford from St. Peter's church
Crosshills. It was a truly ecumenical service and the church was full.
This was, of course, followed by coffee and hot cross buns in the
church hall at St. Peter's.
Easter Sunday at St. Peter's Crosshills. Once again the church was full
and the service was led by Rev. Peter Bedford and Chris Holmes.
There was a drama and wonderful singing by Monica Dobson, who played the
part of Mary, and Chris Holmes who played Thomas. Their pianist was
Jonathan Crossley who, as usual, played brilliantly also taking part in
the drama. Members of the congregation were also involved. Chris Holmes
had organised the drama and singing and we congratulate him, the singers
and pianist for a truly wonderful and very moving spiritual experience.
The flowers in the church were glorious and everyone had brought a
flower to decorate the wooden cross during the service. Without
exception everyone felt very moved by the whole service.
