Made a whole heap of the Chewy molasses cookies from yesterday and the verdict is in, they are delicious!
I didn't have any dark brown sugar so I subbed in regular brown sugar so I missed some of the dramatic crackles but they still taste real nice!

Let me introduce you to a dessert that is as delicious as it is hard to pronounce - gateau basque.
My husband only likes maybe 3 kinds of desserts and cherries are incorporated in to two of those things. When we came across this recipe in - we knew it was meant to be.
She's neither a simple, nor a quick recipe but that dough and the cherry compote make the massive amount of dirty dishes worth it!

Blueberry muffins for a lil pre-birthday work treat!
Isn't it funny that office etiquette works a lot like school? I just feel obligated to bring a birthday treat to work despite the fact that it is MY birthday πŸ’β€β™€οΈ

Couldn't resist making token Super Bowl football cookies for the big game.

Good evening to these lemon poppyseed muffins only.

Check that cross section though!!

Decided to try Coffee Coffee Cake today! I'd say this recipe was fairly complex (there's SO many ingredients) but boy was it worth it. The cake is fluffy, Coffee flavor is on point, and the topping is crumbly & delicious. The ribbon you see in the cross section is comprised of instant coffee granules, cinnamon & brown sugar and it is delightful!

Continuing my cookie streak with this salted tahini chocolate chip cookie recipe!
Tahini provided such an interesting flavor to this basic cookie and while I was skeptical at first, I can honestly say I am pleasantly surprised!

Took a lil hiatus from the kitchen after the holiday bake-a-palooza but had the itch to make cookies today. I made a couple dozen brown sugar cookies for an afternoon snack πŸ˜‹

Merry Christmas friends!! All my mandatory Christmas baking is finished and looking pretty and I am READY for rest.
May you find small joys to celebrate this season, like chocolate covered pretzels and homemade cookies and silly Christmas movies.

Thanks for sticking around with me this year - endlessly grateful for you all.

Tomorrow I am making cinnamon babka so stay tuned!

20/12/2020

What better way to wrap the weekend up than batch making a whole heap of chocolate chip cookies!?

20/12/2020

Thanks to everyone who came out to yesterday and helped support ! We were able to raise $478, which is amazing!

We can do hard things when we come together and this just proves that point.

Would love to know how you liked any items you bought of mine - send me a DM if you'd like! I thrive off positivity!

I am SO jazzed about this amazing stamp made by my friend Nora over at
I'm so impressed by the level of detail she was able to get with my logo.
10/10 would recommend!

Candidate # 2 for holiday goodies is America's Test Kitchen Eggnog Snickerdoodle cookies!
Overall, super deliciously tender cookies but I think some adjustments are needed to amp up the eggnog flavor. I was so excited to use Rum Extract for the first time ever for these and I definitely think they would benefit from another dash of that than the recipe calls for.

These are for sure making the cut this year if only for an excuse to use that rum extract again (shoutout to Martha's Vineyarx & Beanilla for that!)

Started some recipe testing for holiday gift baskets tonight.
I made brown sugar cookies with a maple/grated nutmeg icing (which tasted amazing)!
Definitely a contender! What are some if your go-to goodie gift choices?!

If you overestimated how much pumpkin puree you'd need for your pies this Thanksgiving - I always end up with at least 2 extra cans of it - might I suggest this pumpkin bread recipe from ?
I didn't have quite enough eggs as was called for but it still held together just fine so I will take it! It is pumpkin-y goodness all wrapped up in a wonderfully warm strusel topping *chef's kiss*

Thanksgiving pie pt. 2

In true this year fashion - I'm not 100% sure this pie is cooked all the way through but here we are.
I hope your holiday was spent doing whatever it is that makes you comfortable and feeling whatever feelings you can muster today.

I'm feeling thankful for our health, for everyone risking their own & their families' health to care for others, and pies with tiny leaves & acorn accents.

Thanksgiving Pie pt. 1
Used my previously canned apple pie filing for this beauty!

Gang's all here! Pies are officially underway today. I highly recommend getting yourself a kitchen scale if you want to have 5 star pies (and really anything else πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ).
Using a scale gives you ultra accurate measurements for things like flour and liquids, which ultimately leads to on point baked goods! While there are about a million options out there on the market - don't feel like you have to spend big dollars right off the bat. I bought my trusty scale from for about $25 and it works just fine!

10/10 would recommend flaky sea salt on brownies πŸ˜‹

As always, using Chewy Brownie recipe here.

Our second act for Applepalooza was applesauce! I will forever preach for not peeling your apples before you cook them down - it makes a surprising amount of difference in the flavor and how can you not love the color??

18/10/2020

This weekend was the unofficial Applepalooza at my house! First on the docket was some homemade apple fritters. This was my first go at making any sort of fried dough and it did not suck!

10/10/2020

I am all about those sandwich cookies lately! Made some homemade Oatmeal Creme Pies to continue the trend.
Safe to say I "taste tested" a couple of these.... you know, for quality control 😏

Used a recipe from with a slight tweak.

Alright folks, the school year is upon us here in Michigan and like a lot of you I have been thinking about how I can show a little love to our teacher friends.

My solution is this: I have 6 half-dozen boxes of cookies to be given away to 6 teachers.

Send me a message with a K-12 teacher who you think could really use a delicious treat to help propel them through the beginning of this crazy school year, what school they teach at and a few words about them!

At the end of the week, I will randomly choose the winners while also highlighting ALL of the nominees here on social media.

The only rule is that the teachers need to be located here in greater West Michigan.

Cannot wait to hear about all of these amazing educators!!

I needed a baking project today so I made Checkerboard Icebox Cookies and aren't they so cute?!

Can confirm that they are as fun to make as they are to eat.

Happy graduation Laney!
To celebrate this achievement, I made a vanilla layer cake with roasted strawberry buttercream filling, Italian buttercream frosting and topped with some sugared strawberries. I also made vanilla cupcakes with a strawberry buttercream center & italian buttercream frosting.

Let me introduce you to my newest best friend: Italian buttercream

Needed to do some practice with this new to me technique, so I made some chocolate cupcakes and topped it off with buttercream and was not disappointed πŸ˜‹
