In addition to the AEA Bill currently being reviewed at the State, Capitol,, here are,a couple of others you might want to review. They would be good talking points for you and your students at CTE Day at the Capitol February 6th. SF 322: Repeals the school voucher scheme enacted last year or, at a minimum, requiring more accountability and data reporting,
SF 458: Reinstate bargaining power and basic labor rights for Iowa workers.

Indiana is excited to be hosting the 2024 ACTE Region III Conference June 12–14, 2024 in beautiful downtown Indianapolis!

We are accepting sessions proposals from Region III now.

Proposals are for a 45-minute presentation incorporating time for Q&A or other interactive elements, and you must be willing to present on Thursday, June 13 or Friday, June 14.

New CTE Teacher Symposium 25/09/2023

Calling All First-year CTE Teachers! As part of our broader efforts to address the CTE teacher pipeline, ACTE will launch a New CTE Teacher Symposium at this year’s CareerTech VISION, Nov. 29–Dec. 2 in Phoenix, Arizona. ACTE invites CTE educators in their first year of teaching to apply to participate in this event and related activities throughout the rest of the school year. Twenty teachers selected to participate in the symposium will receive the following:

- Complimentary registration to VISION
- A daylong, targeted professional development experience on Nov. 29
- Mentoring, support and networking opportunities throughout the remainder of the school year

The deadline to apply is Oct. 15!

Iowa ACTE hosted a very successful day at the Iowa State Capitol! Over 150 students and educators celebrated and raised awareness of the importance of Career and Technical Education programs. Middle School through college students met with legislators, shared their learning experiences and filled the Rotunda with displays that showcased their programs.
