LOST 6/08/24: Lucy, Female Brown and White Beagle Mix with docked tail (30 lbs) Lost near 9th Ave and Hoover Street area in Longmont, CO 80503.

Dog is in SURVIVAL MODE. If you have a sighting. DO NOT chase, follow, whistle, call, etc. Just OBSERVE AND REPORT any potential sighting via call or text to 719-338-3902. Backup cell is 919-624-8251.

An experienced canine recovery team is working to bring her into safety. Please, DO NOT go out “searching” for dog; Team has the area covered. IF you see dog. TREAT DOG LIKE A STRAY CAT - just STOP, DROP, OBSERVE & REPORT - so that she does not bolt into danger like traffic. Every interaction with people needs to be positive so dog builds trust of humans. If you approach or make verbal contact, she will bolt.

🚨 We are looking for 14 more fosters to register by Wednesday, August 22nd at 2p to keep our promise to some very deserving dogs that are hoping to make it out of an over capacity shelter.

All they need is a chance and a ticket out of the shelter and a soft place to land until their person comes along. Please consider opening your home and hearts to one of these deserving dogs. We know that you are reading this because you care what happens to these deserving souls and have compassion for rescue animals.

Fostering is beautiful and often saves more than one life. Our busy schedules, stress, deadlines, apartments and life will still exist while fostering AND we promise you they are just happy to be with you no matter what your schedules look like. A few of your days, weeks or months in exchange for their entire lifetime.

As a foster based rescue we have all of the physical resources that you will need to be a successful foster.

We are getting down to the wire here with just a few hours left to confirm 7 more fosters for tomorrow! These are all young puppies in the 8-10 week range that are looking for their ticket out of the shelter and into a loving home until their forever comes along.

Please consider opening your homes to a few of these animals in need. Share with your family, co workers, friends etc so we can all come together to make this happen for these deserving dogs. A shelter with a time limit is no place for any animals and that is exactly where these dogs will stay if we can’t secure fosters.

We have met every one of these animals during a shelter walk through this week and they are all so sweet and didn’t ask to be living in their current over crowded and under resources shelter with a 55% euthanasia rate.

DOG FOSTERS NEEDED July 25th 🚨

We are currently writing this email from a county in NM where many of our animals come from, in a shelter that hovers around an average of 55% euthanasia rate. These dogs spend their days in such confined spaces and most are BEGGING for someone to look their way or give them a little head scratch. Their current conditions are unfair and they didn’t ask for this. Will you considering opening your home and heart to save a life?

The shelter is no place for a dog. No wonder by the time they get to us they are SO ready to be snuggled and be outside. These dogs have no outlet to burn energy or receive consistent love.

Fostering is an 8 week on average commitment including driving them to weekly adoption events on Saturdays. Rocky Mountain Puppy Rescue provides all of the supplies to make your home foster ready.

Sometimes the driving to and from adoption events, potty training and sleepless nights makes us forget why we signed up to do this work in the first place and please consider what it’s like to say hello to every single dog in there and know that half of them won’t make it much longer. All we can do is continue to fight this fight for the ones that didn’t make it out and love the ones who did.

RMPR is for the medical cases we have in our care.

We are facing the most expensive group of medical cases we have ever had to date and we need the communities help!

Diesel came to us with a very old very painful hip and knee injury likely from being hit by a car and left untreated. His hip was completely out of the socket and his ACL was obliterated. His option for comfort and no more pain was to remove his leg. He is THRIVING now and we need your support to pay for his surgery and care.

Marlena came to us with her litter of 8 cutie babies. She is heartworm positive and something so treatable would have ended her life in the shelter. We said SEND HER ON UP! We need your support for her heartworm treatment.

Queen has an internal liver shunt which will eventually end her life. She is currently waiting to be old enough to receive the life saving surgery that will give her a long happy life! Her surgery is the most expensive case we have ever had on its own and coupled with our other two cases we REALLY need to raise funds!

All of these angels would not have the chance at life without this community!

Calling all dog lovers!!! We are really struggling with finding backup fosters and placements for some of our pups that are in need of a foster. Please consider opening your home and heart or spreading the word to your communities, friends, families etc to encourage folks to foster (even if they sign up to be back up is helpful!) 

With so many dogs and backup needs and so few fosters signing up it is causing challenges with our intake process and bringing up more deserving dogs until we can get some of these cuties moved.
