I belong to different Whatsapp groups.

I guess you do too?

Some of them have very active and engaging members that post and share everything.... ranging from 'fake news', bad news, good news and what you should not even refer to as 'news'.

In the very active groups, chats gets filled up so fast ...in the blink of an eye, I would have over 1000 chats or more to catch up with.

Where do I start from???

I made an attempt on a particular day to read through all the chats, over 2,000 of them.

1 hour later I was still reading through the chats...

What?!!...1hour of my life?

Of course few of the chats made sense but most are just junks and waste of time.

Distractions comes subtly and unnoticed.

My experience is not absolute.

This may not mean distraction for you, especially if you deliberately allotted that time to unwind and do nothing, but you need to be true to yourself at all times...

It's the beginning of another awesome week and my question to you is: what are your priorities?

Are you going to be disciplined enough to differentiate the difference between priorities of less or no importance?

Remember, you always have a choice.

You will have massive victories this week.

I remember a certain guy that helped me fix the brainbox of my car a few years back. ⁣


He completed the job as agreed in a short time with no issues. ⁣


I didn't have any need to call him or complain about his job since everything he did was working perfectly.⁣


But guess what?⁣


He was the one calling me every now and again, not to ask for more jobs but just to check on me and to find out if the engine was performing as expected.⁣


He kept in touch with me for some years...⁣


Here is someone that does not have a formal education but understood relationship management and the value of exceeding customer's expectations.⁣


He definitely won my loyalty.⁣

In 2016, I was following up with a prospective customer to buy a training product.

She understood how the training will impact on her career and business, but she wanted to be sure that she would learn enough to achieve her goals.

Then the back and forth started...

She had a "lorry-load" of questions to ask.

Every followup phone call was almost an 'interview session'.

For her to be further convinced she requested to come to our training centre to inspect the venue...with her husband...

But I patiently followed up... clearing all objections.

And of course, she attended the training!

How was I able to pull through?

In this video, I revealed my 3-Step- Process for handling any sales objection.

While in the Restaurant, the Waiter comes around to take your order and your preference was chicken and chips...

A few minutes later, you were presented with a bowl of salad and something else...

What exactly will be your reaction?

Most likely you will be stunned and ask the waiter if he/she was actually LISTENING to you while taking your order.

You're definitely not going to hide your surprise and irritation.

But before you get too angry, the question is: are you treating your customers any better?

Do you actually LISTEN with the intent of serving them exactly what they want, the way they want it?

Being in business is all about the CUSTOMER

Offline or Online, you must learn to LISTEN

While 'taking orders' you must learn to LISTEN carefully

You are guaranteed of repeat business if you SERVE them what they ordered for and not what you're interested in

LISTENING gives you a lot of insights on how to fix their problems

Requesting feedback on your service offerings is a way of LISTENING

Checking out the INSIGHTS from your analytics on social media channels and your websites is a form of LISTENING

You should also be leveraging some of the social LISTENING tools

You will definitely sell more when you learn to LISTEN

Have you ever lost a deal because you failed to follow-up?

It's either your competitor is speaking with the customer or your customer is researching your competition.

Don't forget that the customer in the year 2020 is more informed than ever.

There are loads of information everywhere.

To carry out a research on what their preferences are is now the new normal.

According to Google Consumer Barometer 58% of shoppers globally RESEARCH or PURCHASE online.

Trust me, that figure can't just be 58% anymore, because we now have more people compelled to ttansact online!

Don't leave the conversion of your customers to chance, be deliberate about closure

That's where the work is...

Okay, I get your point that you've made several calls with no response.

But the question is: how badly do you want the business?

If you really need the customer you will not relent in being creative to get their attention and close the sale.

So follow-up and get them to buy!

Don't be like that my former Tailor who does not look back to confirm of what he did was perfect.

Of course, we discussed at different times and the feedback I get was "sorry, I am very busy".

I quietly looked for someone else that was ready to give me the attention I deserved as a 'customer'.

The truth is, you are not the only one in town who knows that craft of yours!

You can't imagine how many more people are your competitors or about to be.

Treat your customers well.

If they don't give a feedback, then ask.

Let them know you prioritise value over their money.

How To Sell To The Right Audience

The earlier you understand this, the better.

Everyone cannot be your customer!

Yes, people buy stuff every day- including you.

But ask yourself, how many things do you really buy out of sentiments?

Rationality takes over when it's time to part away with your money.

It's not any different with your customer - "target audience".

They know what they want and know when they see it.

Be crystal clear about their "persona"
Who exactly are your customers?

Where can they be found online or offline?

What's their average monthly income? Trust me this will help with your pricing and projections.

Selling will be less stressful if you are talking to the right audience.

Following Up With Prospective Customers Till They Buy From You

In my early days in sales, I was privileged to work with a boss who made it compulsory for you to document the conversations you had with prospective customers after each meeting.

We call it Call Memo.

It's a simple document summarising your conversation.

We can always refer to the writeup at any time. A colleague can refer to it and continue with the follow-up.

One huge benefit of a Call Memo is that, even if you are not around, other members of the team can pick up the document and understand what to do.

You can also achieve this with a CRM.

To follow-up, until your customer buys, you must have a detailed process to achieve this.

Create a process that works for you and your niche and follow through.

You get to think clearer when you're calm.

Customers don't like to be "pressured", so you've got to figure out a way to be persistent without being a PEST!

It always works...give them a break.

Re-think your strategy and re-present your value proposition.

You may also decide to offer other unrelated services pro bono.

Eventually, they will come back to you.
