Home cooking and baking are on the rise this year as we have all been forced to quarantine and/or stay safer at home most of this crazy year.

Although cooking may just seem like a basic necessity, many people have turned to cooking and baking as a new hobby and/or stress reliever during this pandemic.

I personally have always loved baking, but due to my crazy work schedule never had the time or wasn’t home enough to bake as much as I would like.

People across the globe are speaking out against racism and discrimination after the death of George Floyd, an unarmed African American man killed in broad daylight by a white police officer in Minneapolis on May 25. Several have pledged to help the black community fight for equality after years of discrimination they have endured. When we formed this band we promised to ALWAYS give back to those in need with every dollar earned from performing; though we cannot play a live set at a venue we figured out a way to keep our promise. We have decided to host a live-stream performance where we will be performing our 14-song set in its entirety while accepting donations that we will be donating directly to two organizations of our choice. After doing research we found that while several organizations are overwhelmed with donations, there were several that were in need so we decided to help a couple in need. We have chosen BLACK VISIONS COLLECTIVE and CAMPAIGN ZERO.

JOANN Stores are Handing Out Free Fabric Supplies at Curbside to Anyone Sewing Face Masks at Home JOANN Fabrics is rallying behind America's healthcare workers by donating fabric and materials to anyone who wants to sew masks—with curbside pickup option.

Garment Worker Center is launching the Garment Worker COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund.

A needs assessment with 100 of our members and revealed specific impacts on their income and well-being.

~ Threatened job security
~ Food insecurity due to loss of income
~Inability to pay rent, utilities, and other bills due to loss of income

Garment workers are often not eligible for unemployment benefits and the underground nature of the industry, such as “off the books” work, makes applying for paid family leave or disability insurance uniquely challenging for this workforce.

Hospitals and other medical facilities are sending PPE (face masks and medical apparel) orders into LA’s garment district. Garment workers are providing essential labor to curb the pandemic, yet have little to no health protection and assurance of fair wages!

We urge our supporters to give what they can, and leaders of the fashion industry to contribute generously.
