I was deeply moved by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks to Congress today. I appreciated his mention of the Abraham Accords and was proud to champion legislation with Rep. Ritchie Torres strengthening this historic agreement as my first bill to become law.

Director Cheatle’s resignation is ten days overdue and does not absolve her of her failures at her post. Our democracy came within inches of being irrevocably changed and a father lost his life shielding his family from bullets in a tragedy we now know may have been preventable.

After voting to ban all natural gas hookups in new residential construction, adding thousands of dollars to the price of heating homes across New York State, State Senator Pete Harkham is now pushing legislation to require a STICKER WARNING on all gas stoves in New York. Harckham’s bill is part of a systematic effort to create hysteria over natural gas use, one of the most environmentally efficient and cost effective ways to run a household in the Hudson Valley. Clearly, this a precursor to a progressive attempt to outright ban natural gas ovens in our state.

Harckham’s warning sticker, which would raise the price of every oven sold in New York, would state the obvious: natural gas stoves emit natural gas. We’re not stupid, Pete. We even know that McDonald’s coffee is hot! What’s next? A sticker on TV screens, microwaves, and toasters?

Progressives like Mr. Harckham seem to truly believe they know better than we do. They don’t. But they sure do know how to make New York less affordable by the week.
