It cooled off enough last night that it almost felt like sleeping in the tent. The cold air breezing through the windows was needed for sure. It was close to that but just not quite. Also this wasn’t my immediate view outside my door like it was in Garrett State Forest.

I photograph this reservoir a lot as I drive past it basically every weekday. This was it this morning. Maybe I should stop saving up photos and just post them when I have them. Anyways, here’s a fresh one for ya!

Summer is definitely here.

When the morning sun breaks through at the perfect angle and a little fog is still lingering to top it off. We all need more mornings like this.

I slept in this tent with my kids all weekend in the middle of the Garrett State Forest in Maryland. Their cousins, uncles and Papa were in neighboring tents. What a great weekend!

I also learned that being the dad while camping is a ton of hard work and planning, but it was well worth every second of it. Now only if I was back there instead of this windowless office. Guess it’s time to be a full time photographer. ➸

I’ve been a fan for 10 years now. They constantly appear on my Apple Music Replay as one of my most listened to artists every year. This year it didn’t look like they were going to come to Pittsburgh so I had debating traveling to see them. Then my wife gets a pop up ad saying they are playing a special acoustic performance at . So needless to say the whole family went and had the best time. I sang every word as a got to photograph their set. Even better was that my youngest was at my hip when I took most of the shots. Then we sat side stage and took it all in. Man that’s a weekend I’ll never forget! 🧡

This weekend was quite amazing! On Saturday, my favorite band played a special acoustic set at the grand opening. Such great tunes, great times and great people!

The other day I drew this bison skull. I’d really like to see those big creatures in their natural roaming area someday. I’ve always been fascinated by the west even though I’ve only been that way a time or two. I’d really love to travel more but still haven’t managed to find out how. So for now maybe I’ll just travel there through art. ➸ 🦬

Hello! It’s been a very long time since I introduced myself. My name is Nick and I run this little operation called The Tangleleg. Thanks for follwing along and stopping by to check out my stuff. I’m a creative daydreamer who is always dreaming up the next adventure. For the most part I post photography, but I sprinkle in design and whatever else I am up to. I’m here on Instagram to express my creativity, to meet new people and stay connected with others.

There is a good chance you might see a decent amount of booze on here as that is where I find most of my work and I’ve been known to enjoy a well crafted drink. The rest of the photos are typically of the outdoors or sights I’ve seen that I think make for a good photo. When I get around to it I post some of my design/illustration work on here as well! I’ve been known to have a lot of random hobbys so don’t be surprised if you see something else pop up on here.

So what’s tangleleg mean anyways? It’s a wild west nickname for a certain type of whiskey. The high proof of the elixir would cause your legs to become tangled, producing an unsteady walk upon leaving your spot at the bar.
