The Co-Mission Network
We are a network of mission oriented churches Co-Operating together to fulfill the Great Co-Mission
Aloha All,
I know you have probably heard and seen what is happening on the island of Maui and specifically in Lahaina and the devastation brought on by the wildfires.
Personally, Donna and I have been truly heart-sick seeing some of the reports coming out of the Lahaina area. Those of you who have traveled with us on behalf of our ministry certainly remember your time spent in that area and should understand how catastrophic the situation is now that Lahaina has been completely destroyed.
We struggle with the frustration of not knowing what to do and how best to help now that we are no longer living in Hawaii. My first reaction was to jump on a plane and try to get over there to find out how I could help but realized quickly that would only contribute to the issues facing the island.
Upon consultation with our ministry partner Jay Armstrong and after much prayer and consideration, we think we have formulated a plan that will help in the immediate time-frame and one that hopefully we will be able to implement for the future.
We know that you probably are looking for ways to help as well.
We believe the best way we can help immediately would be to send much needed monetary donations to our contact on the ground in Maui so that funds could be distributed to those most in need.
I'm sure you would want to know that your donations are being used in the right way and are getting to those that are most in need. We believe this is the best way to do that.
If you or your church would like to help physically we will be attempting to coordinate travel groups for Disaster Relief for the future. As we mentioned however, that scenario will take some time.
If you are interested in monetary donations and want the funds to go directly to those most affected, please email us and we will send you the information you need to do so.

Please pray for our Disaster Relief Team that will be serving in South Louisiana this week. This will be a Mission team made up of members from two churches, Seagrove Baptist Church from Florida and Life Baptist Church from Las Vegas.
We will again be serving with Pastor Matt Chouest and First Baptist Church of Golden Meadow Louisiana.
Please pray for safety for the team and that we can show the love of Christ to those still affected by the recent hurricane.
Golden Meadow church distributing donations from across the country “The need is great. There’s no store here open, no restaurants here. So, God has blessed us with this opportunity to serve."
Please pray for our Disaster Relief team from Stone Creek Baptist Church in Dry Branch Georgia. The team has been coordinating with First Baptist Church of Golden Meadow which is about 75 miles south of New Orleans. They have been doing quite a bit of desperately needed "Blue Roof", chainsaw and general repair work in this hard hit community.
Also please continue to pray for Pastor Matt Chouest and his church, First Baptist Church of Golden Meadow. The amazing people of this church have set up a distribution and meal center serving the needs of their community. They are serving on average 600 families per day in the distribution center and over 1,000 meals per day.
As of today's update this area is still without power.
Our Disaster Relief Team from Seagrove Baptist Church returned today from Southeast Louisiana. We partnered with Pastor Matt Chouest of First Baptist Church Golden Meadow which is about 75 miles south of New Orleans. As you can see, this area of Louisiana was especially hard hit.
The weather prevented us from doing any "Blue Roof" work so we served at the Disaster Relief Distribution Center set up at FBC Golden Meadow. With little assistance from outside sources this church has established an indispensable service for the people of this community. Please pray for this church as they fulfill a desperate need in this storm ravaged community while also sharing the love of Christ.
Please pray for our Disaster Relief Team from Seagrove Baptist Church in Seagrove Florida. We will be leaving on Sunday to travel to the community of Cutoff in Southeast Louisiana to assist those affected by Hurricane Ida.
The Co-Mission Network is blessed to Partner Great Hills Baptist Church in Austin Texas and Worship Leader Terry Hurt with Lahaina Baptist Church and Pastor Jay Wright.
In September, 2018 Terry will take a small team to Lahaina Baptist Church to teach on the Biblical model of personal worship and corporate worship leading. While their primary focus will be spiritual...they will also discuss the musical roles of individual band members in leading worship.
Please pray for Lahaina Baptist Church as they prepare to host this team and pray for Great Hills Baptist Church as they seek to share the resources God has blessed them with.
God's churches are better together...
1 Corinthians 12 4-6:
4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.
ISLAND FELLOWSHIP CHURCH
ST. THOMAS USVI
Island Fellowship Church before the storm, after the storm and the church now.
What we found is that this church on the island of St. Thomas is not about a building. This church is an example to all of us of what a true church is. It is a group of believers loving God, loving and caring about each other and following the example set by Christ to love the people in their community.
Put plainly, they simply need your help to recover from the effects of the storm and to reach out to the people of their island to show them something different...the love of Jesus Christ.
Our group is in the airport departing the island of St. Thomas. After 5 days of surveying the island, visiting different churches and talking with local people, our take away from our visit is that the people and churches of the island are resilient and faithful but still need help.
Please pray about you and your church joining us in efforts to come alongside the churches of the island of St. Thomas in helping with recovery both physically and spiritually.
We will be scheduling upcoming Mission efforts that will require help from multiple teams in many different areas from construction to outreach to VBS programs to counseling.
Please email us at [email protected] if you or your church would be interested in joining us on these upcoming Mission trips.
The Co-Mission Network "St. Thomas Recon" group spent some time today visiting Ebenezer Memorial Baptist Church on the island of St. Thomas.
Please pray for Pastor Felix Durand and his wife Janet as they seek God's will in ministering to their community and for how we can help them in the future.
Please Pray for our Co-Mission Network Partners currently on the island of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. We are investigating how we can help with hurricane recovery and also how we can help the churches on the island.
