We had an incredible time welcoming our new freshmen and transferee students during the Bayda Adi campus tour and orientation!

The day was filled with excitement as our new students explored the campus, met faculty and fellow students, and got a taste of the vibrant community that they are now part of.

From informative sessions to fun activities, everyone had the chance to learn more about what makes our campus unique and how they can make the most of their time here.

Look! ✨The University of Mindanao Association of Social Work Students (UMASWS) had an incredibly productive and inspiring meeting with the representative of Central Book Store last July 25, 2024.

We delved into our organization's mission, shared our recent achievements, and discussed our ambitious plans for the future. This meeting was a fantastic opportunity to explore how our values align and to muster innovative ways where we can work together to make a meaningful impact. We are truly grateful for the chance to connect and deeply appreciate the interest and support shown. The event successfully presented the organization's Accomplishment Report and the proposed changes on the Constitution and By-laws. Moreover, the auditorium was filled with laughter, creativity, camaraderie, and sportmanship as the students were able to enjoy the games and the "Retro Show-off", which were the highlights of the said activity.

The UMASWS marked the end of the month-long Global Social Work Month celebration during the Social Work Month Culmination with the highly anticipated Social Work Ambassador and Ambassadress 2024 held on March 26, 2024, at the UM Bolton Gymnasium.

The Social Work Ambassador and Ambassadress 2024 showcased eight candidates, each representing the uniqueness of social work profession. They displayed their passion, dedication, and commitment to social welfare and social work.

The newly crowned Social Work Ambassador 2024 is Rusty R. Galicia from the 2nd Year-Level, while the Social Work Ambassadress 2024 is Theresa C. Abillero from the 1st Year-Level. 👑

Meanwhile, there was an awarding of certificates to all winners and participants with the previously conducted activities such as the Quiz Bowl, Team Building, and Promotional Video.

Overall, the event was filled with excitement and fun while celebrating the values of social work.

Together, we can undoubtedly make a difference and create lasting change in the lives of those we serve. 🩷✨
