a lovely, little shop

Oh my! It has been a while since I last posted on here! Last year was a bit of a challenge for me, as I was dealing with some unexpected health issues. Between surgeries and recovery, it was difficult for me to make new items for the shop. I tried to keep the shop open when I could, and surprisingly, managed to fulfill 38 orders during all of the personal chaos! Those 38 orders last year truly made my year, and I connected with so many of you! So many sweet messages of support and excitement! I am truly grateful for the love & support! I am definitely on the mend, and have a lot of new ideas in the works! Let’s make this year a good one, full of magic & fun! ✨Thank you all again, for your support! Much love!❤️

I recently watched The English and loved it so much! The story, acting, and cinematography are fantastic! This necklace is new to the shop and inspired by the two main characters, Cornelia & Eli.

Lovely and dainty, this necklace features a hand-stamped pendant & a cluster of charms, depicting the importance of Cornelia Locke & Eli Whipp’s star signs. 🦂 🐺

When I opened my Etsy shop in 2009, I started selling some of my photography and sewn items, and it slowly morphed into something else. I found I really enjoyed the process of creating jewelry from found and vintage components. I incorporated a lot of antique and vintage beads & charms, as well as natural elements, such as peacock ore and quartz. I was, and still am, a rock hound, and love incorporating these elements into my work. My work is always evolving and it is so fun to see what will happen next!

I’m constantly inspired by nature and of course, books! I am an avid reader, and will often take a word or sentence that I may have read, and wonder, how can I make that word or sentence into something physical? Or sometimes, like a weirdo, I will stare at one of my blank walls, and an idea will appear in my mind. I’ll do a sketch of the concept, and then start to source my materials. It is always super satisfying to see something I picture in my mind, come to pass.

I’ve been reading a lot about the symbolism of good luck charms, fraternal organizations, the practice of magic, familiars in European folklore, and of course, my favorite subject, astronomy. These pieces were inspired by my love of all of these things! I hope you enjoy them!

I present to you:

The Oracle - Vintage brass hands clasp a beautiful moonstone orb. A tiny, mid-century gold & rhinestone starburst hangs over the clasped hands. Moonstone has a beautiful, blue flash within the stone, and signifies one’s feminine energy, love, and balance.

The Secret of the Amulet - Made with a vintage, coppery brass horseshoe & four-leaf clover, a gold acorn & skeleton key, and a carved mother of pearl hand.

A little bit about each charm:

The horseshoe is a symbol of good luck, while the four-leaf clover’s leaves represent luck, love, hope, & faith.

The carved, open mother of pearl hand is a symbol of generosity and stability.

The gold skeleton key can symbolize love, or unlocking the door to a lover’s heart. Other meanings of the key are unlocking one’s skills or hidden talents!

My favorite…the gold acorn! I have an antique acorn pendant from my great-grandparents, which hangs in my bedroom window. Acorns have many meanings in folklore. Some say they symbolize one’s youth, strength, unlimited potential, or growth. Legend also states that acorns are protectors from lightning, and to hang one in your window (which I do!). Another interesting fact I read was during the witch trials and burnings, it was common practice for a witch to pass an acorn on to a fellow witch, as a secret way of communicating.
