Love seeing cabinets going in!
I said I would post a photo after things were getting finished! (sorry it took me so long! 😉)
Getting close to the finish line in the Highland Park kitchen! Countertops, appliances, plumbing and cabinet hardware all installed this week 😊 Always good working with Waxwing Woodworking Inc. !
This walnut waterfall countertop was installed while I was out of town and quickly covered to protect it during the ongoing work. But now, its finally uncovered and ready for finish! Beautiful work by Leon Schmidt cabinetmaker! We are heading into the last weeks of the Longfellow whole house remodel with Terrafirma building and remodeling. I'll post more as we finish!

Check out Public Field Guide,a new project by my good friend Karen Kopacz!
8 days ago I decided to drive from St. Paul, Minnesota to Taos, New Mexico to interview a friend who was accepted to an artist residency program. I had no idea I would be interviewing so many people along the way whose stories would bring Public Field Guide to life, a project I've been preparing for over a year. I wanted to tell stories about people who ignited something within themselves, proactive people, people rethinking, people doing. I wanted to tell the story of how culture influences us and how we influence culture. What I learned on this trip is that place is as powerful as the people who live there. They work together, people and place. I look forward to going to the next place and meeting more inspiring people. For now, I'm going home, to my place, and I will keep telling stories from there.

Love this!
After months of doodling and sketching new ideas for our wildly popular perforated panels, we're pleased to introduce nine new patterns! Introducing... Matrix, Capsule, Ellipse, Hex, Flight, Swirl, Star, Line and (let's not forget) Pebble.
Designed by the über-talented team at FilzFelt, these new patterns add texture and style, provide acoustic absorption plus pop of color to interior spaces. Ranging from geometrics inspired by architecture to more organic shapes found in the natural environment, our new patterns are simply 'der Hammer.'
