KLINE
Layered sketchbooks and journals. Designed in Brooklyn, New York. http://www.klinenyc.com We believe that everyone wants to grow ideas.
KLINE products are rigorously designed, user friendly sketchbooks and journals that feature layers of multiple paper types in a hardbound, cotton cover. Our books use combinations of vellum, grid, ruled, plain and watercolor paper. Creative people should be able to build and develop ideas even with no electricity. KLINE is the best place to bring these ideas to life and watch them grow, no wi-fi r
Good day to everyone. (especially Kickstarter backers)
I wanted to quickly post this comment to reply to all of the emails, concerns, and tweets that we have seen for the last several months. Please know that despite our being incommunicado, we have seen each and every one of these.
Our last 10 months have been incredibly challenging on multiple fronts. Without going into details, I can say that we have had financial, logistical, personnel, quality, and technical issues. We are not selling books through the website, or other mediums, as our production quality issues from the fall still haunt our inventory.
To those of you who are yet to receive your books, I want to assure you that getting your pledge fulfilled is our only priority. You will get your books by the end of 2014.
I am sorry that it has all taken this long. We are not terrible people, just a team that got a little over our heads. Each one of us has struggled with not living up to the expectations that were promised.
Stay patient, and the books will come.
Cheers and all of the best.
- Joshua

Rise and shine: the daily routines of history's most creative minds
Looking for inspiration?
Take a look at this fascinating article in The Guardian about daily patterns amongst history's most creative people.

www.theguardian.com Benjamin Franklin spent his mornings naked. Patricia Highsmith ate only bacon and eggs. The path to greatness is paved with a thousand tiny rituals (and a fair bit of substance abuse) – but six key rules emerge, says Oliver Burkeman
"Space and order and light. Those are the things men need just as much as they need bread or a place to sleep."

Franzen, from the Netherlands, has work that reminds me quite a bit of the pen drawings made famous by Alighiero Boetti. Boetti's 'Seasons' is pictured below.
