When the myelin sheath is damaged, you lose information, lose power or even stop transmission.

The main symptoms (among many visible and invisible) are extreme fatigue, concentration disorders, gait disorders, etc ...

I mainly have a walking disorder, and after using aids (cane, crutches), I am permanently wheelchair bound since 2015.

I want to stop my illness before the disability becomes too big.

At present, no treatment in relation to my degree of disability can be offered to me.

However, a treatment does exists. HSCT (Hematopoietic Stem Cell Therapy) can stop the evolution of the disease.

This technique is known and has been mastered. It is already used as a treatment for some cancers and leukemias.

This therapy has convincing results for multiple sclerosis. The statistics of the treatments carried out show that the progression of the disease is stopped in 80% of the cases.

HSCT operates in 3 stages, spread over 4 weeks:

1-Generation, collection and storage of your hematopoietic stem cells

2-chemotherapy to eliminate all of your immune cells (responsible for the disease)

3-Reinjection into the blood of your stored hematopoietic stem cells in order to recreate an immune system with new immune cells.

More concretely, it is a reinitialization of the immune system, thus ending the activity of the disease.

HSCT is practiced in 3 hospitals in England. Unfortunately, I do not meet the strict and very selective criteria to have this treatment proposed on the NHS.

Since I need this treatment quickly to stop my multiple sclerosis before it does more damage (such as a narrowing of the brain or epileptic seizures), and it's too late, I need to go private.

That's why I'm calling on you to help raise funds to finance it.

Following a medical evaluation, I was accepted into one of the centres offering this treatment outside the UK.

I was offered a treatment date in May 2020, which gives me a chance for hope for the future for the first time.

This treatment will help me continue to live normally, while continuing to work, allowing me to raise and support my two young children (ages 5 and 7).

In addition, it will help me to take a more important part in family life, thus relieving my wife, who is a strong support.

In summary, with this treatment, I will be able to take control of the life which multiple sclerosis has taken from me in recent years.
