MHS Softball

Last weekend, dozens of high school student-athletes showcased their talents in the 2024 AAA All-Star Game. PCSSD was well represented with athletes competing in 4 different sports. Congratulations to all of the all-stars on a job well done!

Look who we ran into to! Hannah will be playing at jjs at 6pm tonight in Conway!

Catherine Keeling will be playing in the 2024 Softball All-Star game Friday 6/21 at 4pm. Come out and watch Cat play against some of the best the state has to offer!

Apex 08 National had a great start to the Top Club National Championship in Midwest Oklahoma defeating Oklahoma Exclusive Premier 11-1 and Batbusters, Martinez 10-1. Apex hit .510 on the day with 26 hits, and only allowing 7. Back at it tomorrow bright and early!!

We picked up these sunflower seeds on the softball field today! Only rule is do not chew sunflower seeds on the MHS softball field. It took over an hour on my hands and knees to get this done. At least i had a good helper! Anyone caught with sunflower seeds will be removed permanently.

Ryann Sanders, Bentonville

The Lady Tigers ace closed out a heralded prep career with a bang, one that includes three state championships and two state tournament MVPs.

Leading a squad that mostly fielded freshmen and sophomores, Sanders struck out 201 batters and compiled a 0.81 ERA while walking only 19 and held opponents to a .173 batting average. Sanders is headed to play at the University of Louisville (Ky.).

I want to give a big shout out to Christianity Garland. She has been the best manager i have ever had in my 10 years at Maumelle High School. She did our announcing and music at all home games. She always has a smile on her face. Thanks for all the time you have spent with the team. You are the real rockstar!

After some time to reflect….i am amazed by the year this group has had. We faced anyone and everyone. We beat Greenwood, Vilonia, Nashville, and Bauxite to name a few. We won 20 plus games for the first time in program history. We won our first round game in State Tournament against Searcy which was also a first in program history. We made great memories through team builders, over night stayes at Van Buren and Branson. We bullied the bully and hit them in the mouth. Sheridan vs Maumelle was one of the best games if not the best game at the state tournament this year! Our girls didn’t back down and played toe to toe with the best team in the state in 5A. We gave it our all and at the end of the game, the chips didn’t fall our way! I am proud of every girl that put on the Lady Hornet jersey and how they represented our program and community. We end the year 22-7-1. Thank you to the parents for your support. Special thank you to Ms. Ashlea, my mom, sister, and Annie for helping me with everything from the ducks, meals, or just listening to me about softball for the past 5 months. We will miss the three seniors but you have a lot to be proud of. Thank you for the time and hard work you put in to get our program to where it is. You will always have a place in the Maumelle Softball Family.
