People tell us to let them cry, while they go comfort a friend.

People tell us responding to our child is creating bad habits, while they smoke and drink.

Man, do they tell us! But I'm not them and neither are you. Because we hear our instincts loud and clear and they will not be silenced.

Because even though we are exhausted, we know our baby’s cry is not a protest, but a communication.

Because we know their need for us at 3am is not a manipulation.

Because even though our backs and hips ache from sleeping in that dang c position, we know that little indent on the right side of our bed will soon fade away - and we would welcome that pain in our body just to feel them latch one more time.

People tell us, but we know. we know this is important, we know that this is right for us and our baby, and we know this is just how it’s supposed to be.

We know mama, they may tell us, but let’s rest in our know.”

Thankful that my God has let me live one more year. Today I start as a brand new 44 year old woman, on my journey to 45, and yet there is so much I don't know. In essence am a playful child with so much hope of a better world, while at the same time am so much wiser than I once once. How can that be?
As I remember my youth after accepting Christ in my heart and life, I was very wise young girl, I still confront things that happen to me and think back at that 16 years old me, I have disappointed her so many time, and the same time I look to her for advice and realise as an older me, I really had it figure out lol! But I truly find myself quite proud of the young girl I was. As I grow older I want nothing more than to seek truth and hold on tightly to those values and convictions that make me who am.

Our little, sweet Christmas tree is up!

Some years ago, I started reading blogs and comments all over the net, about so many "holydays" and traditions, and sadly saw how some people will always find the evil in the world, they will look past the beauty and joy, past the spiritual calling some traditions bring us, and demonize them.
For me a Christmas tree was always and is, just a sign of a joyful time, a time to prepare the mind and the heart to receive Christ our king. And yes I know some will call it a pagan tradition, but to me a Christmas tree is so much more. The tree, a pine tree, which is a perennial, symbol of God's everlasting love, that will withstand the longest and coldest winter, a tree which represents the cross, that cross my savior carried to let me know he will be with me when mine is too much to bear, and in which Jesus Christ gave His live for me, so that I could have live and have it abundantly. The lights, that is His Light, that shines in the dark, He is the light of the world. And the little carefully selected ornaments that adorn the tree, so shiny and beautiful, they are the fruits that should adorn every son and daughter of God; love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. And being now a grown woman and quieting down, to see life in a new way, I become a child once more, and Thank God, for sweet traditions as this, that flare up a light in my heart and brings me closer to Him.

This little guy! I thought we were so done, but he decided he is the nursing champion in our family. So here he is asking for comfort at his favorite place.

Is that time of the year again. What do you love or not so much about this time?
