Huge congratulations to Merrell SA pairing of and who crossed the finish line first overall at this weekends Adventure Racing World Series - Africa Series Adventure Race.
Well done to all teams that participated, it looked to be a huge adventure in amazing terrain.
We do however watch with interest the penalty announcement for teams that did not follow the RD instruction of a compulsory gate pass.

Arthur (2007) – was an Ecuadorian street dog who attached himself to a Swedish adventure racing team when they were competing in the Adventure Racing World Championship in 2014, was brought to Sweden and has inspired a foundation to help other Ecuadorian street dogs.

A weather window just before the stage 9 storm that hit the Western Cape saw Team Cyanosis’s
Clinton Mac join madeliefroux .singletrack on a mountain mission to tag the iconic Virgin Peak and Rifberg (1st and 2nd Ridge). With gale force winds on the descend from 2nd Ridge the team were forced to take Slabs escape route.

FIRST ASCENT ARWS - Adventure Racing World Series Specialized - Stellenbosch Mocke Paddling Specialized Bicycles Clinton Mac Tracey Campbell Nicholas Mulder
The No Frills. No Fuss. race is new to the Adventure Racing World Series - Africa Series series this year and the long course has attracted all the top teams and racers in South Africa. There's going to be a showdown in Montagu this coming weekend.
The 45 hour / 300km course is a perfect shakedown for the World Champs in October, where the strong South African teams will want to do well on home ground.

It’s race week, this is going to be a spectacular 48hrs of flat out racing.
It’s been some time since all the top SA Teams have lined-up at the same race. Montagu in the Western Cape will host SA finest Adventure Racers at the No Frills. No Fuss. AR as the TEAMS prep for the AR World Championships later this year.
Cyanosis’s lineup sees Clinton Mac leading the team of Tracey Campbell with a welcome return of the teams primary navigator Nicholas Mulder after missing Vasbyt Expedition Racing 100hr due to injury.

This weekend Cyanosis took part in the Red Ants Rumble Adventure Race in the Hartbeespoort region of the Magaliesberg, starting at Van Gaalens Cheese Farm.
Nicholas Mulder and Ryno Griesel were in action for Cyanosis in the men’s pairs category and had a good steady race. It took them just over 6 hours to cover about 70km of racing in an area from the summits of the Magaliesberg in the north to B’sorah Farm in the south. There was lots of route choice and some fun navigation, so the team didn’t know how the other competitors were fairing.
The team were thrilled to get first place in the men’s pairs category as well as first place overall on the finish line! 🥳
Well done to Team Red Ants Adventure Racing on organizing a great race! We look forward to future ones and will definitely be back again!
