{2} Dear Future RNs, Here are the shots and tests you are going to be required to have for nursing school. NOTE: THESE ALL COST & MAY HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET. So if you are for sure you are going into nursing, get these done ASAP! Once you have reached the age of 19, you will be charged adult prices. -Physical Examination -Drug Screening -HepatitisB Titer; if NEGATIVE Start 3step HepB Series -MeaslesMumpsRubella Titer; if NEGATIVE Start 2step MMR vaccine series -Varicella/ChickenPox Titer; if NEGATIVE Start 2step Varicella vaccine series -TetanusDiphtheriaAcelluarPertussis Booster -Influenza Vaccination (most recent) Always have your immunization records handy, to be sure you do not get a shot you don't need or have had already. Be sure to get your own nursing school's requirements to be sure you have everything they require. This list is just all I am for sure you will need. Check to see if your school's health clinic offer anything for free or at a discounted price. Though, these accommodations may only apply when you are enrolled full time or taking the minimal amount of hours. My Recommendation: Start getting shots in the non-summer months.
