What to expect during the process of a color transformation.
•you WILL be warm - going from dark to light will expose all of the warm underlying pigments. Your best bet to getting lighter is to embrace the warmth and deal with it for 4-6 weeks.
•it WILL take 3-5 appointments to get all of the existing dark and warm pigment out of your hair without trashing it.
•using good/professional products at home is crucial to keeping your hair strong enough to endure the process.

This beautiful client has been highlighting her own hair at home for years. I have been doing her extensions for about 8 months now (she also brings her own extension hair). She finally asked me color her hair and custom color her extensions to blend. We wanted lived in and blended, baby lights to blend her sparkles, lower color maintenance and an even tone. ✅✅✅.

I used schwartzkopf vario lightener for the lift,
7-00 for her roots,
7-00 + 9-55 for the lowlights
9-00 + 10.21 + clear for the tone

Let’s talk color corrections!

The most common questions I get with color corrections are
Q: How is my hair going to lift out?
A: This varies, depending on your hair texture, porosity and what is currently living on your hair.

Q: Will I lift out orange? I don’t want to be warm.
A: You will 100% lift warm. ALL hair has warm underlying pigments and as soon as they are exposed to lightener, the warmth is exposed. If you have artificial color on your hair, you will lift even warmer!

Q: Will I be ashy blonde in one session?
A: Most likely not. Usually takes 3-4 sessions and
it all depends on how your hair can handle the extensive processes of lightening it. Some hair taps out around a level 6 and 7 which is orange/gold !

The first session in a color correction my goal is to even out any banding and remove as much pigment as possible all while keeping the integrity of your hair.

Luckily for me this client picture wanted to be a strawberry blonde/ ginger. So we worked with what her hair lifted to and created an intentional ginger tone. 🧡

We started off using Malibu CPR to help remove up to 2 levels of old pigment and soften the line of demarcation. After that I went through and added baby lights and teasy lights her using my , foils and brushes and . Once the highlights were processed I rinsed, rooted and toned using oligo Calura gloss

I started out with BB bleach, 20 vol, and foils and for my back sections and then 30 vol for the front.
Once all of the highlights were in I low lighted with 7N, 7.21 and 8.3
After those were processed I root tapped with with 7N, 7.21 and glossed with 10.21 and 9.3
Styled with , and long barrel
