Small But Mighty Arts
A new program to provide artists with small grants and additional resources at critical points in their creative careers.
zero funding for the arts in Philadelphia is unacceptable! The creative economy and its creative workforce of artists and creators are invaluable to all areas of our local ecosystem (education, health, community engagement, social justice, tourism, etc. etc.). The City has, and will continue to look to the creative community to rebuild, re-imagine and contribute to the City's growth, yet they are aiming to withdraw support to funding that would help to sustain creatives and arts programs. The art that artists and cultural leaders create is not optional. NO TO ZERO FUNDING! SIGN THE PETITION...and see the link for many ways to support, make your voice heard and get involved. https://notozero.art/

What we believe: *** "Micro-grants are an investment, and a means to increase persistence among artists — in the development of their work and their ability to secure additional resources. It is a method to stimulate the local creative economy by investing in its producers and workforce so they continue to participate in the creative ecosystem." ***
Thank you to Akeem Dixon and Generocity for letting me share our story and to all of our partners & supporters that make us ...and to local artists who are game-changers, innovators, artrepreneurs and the heart of our creative ecosystem!

PHILLY ARTIST QUESTION:
Are you currently working on, or planning a project that...
1. uses your artistic/creative talents to help community members create their own art, or
2. engages members of the community to inform a specific work of art you will create, or
3. offers community members an opportunity to learn a particular creative skill?
If so, these are just a few of the type of projects that can be supported through the SBMA Bartol Teaching Artist Micro-Grant!
