Angela lives with her musical partner, Brandon Turner, and their three young sons on the Greer, SC farm that has been in her family since 1791. She released her 6th album, “Witness” in October, 2022. It went on to be chosen by American Songwriter Magazine, as a Top 24 Album of the Year, was named “Album of The Year” in The Greenville Journal, and was chosen #6 in the Favorite Albums of the Year Reader’s Poll on Americana Highways. It has earned rave reviews in No Depression, Americana UK, Glide Magazine and more. Her 5th album, “Common Law Wife”, went all the way to number 1 on the Roots Music Report Americana Country Airplay Chart, and remained in the top 5 on that chart for nearly 2 months, closing the year out as #12 on the top 100 albums. Her 2nd album, “BlackTop Road”, produced by Will Kimbrough, remained on the Americana top 40 airplay chart for 7 weeks, and was chosen as a top pick in both Oxford American and Country Weekly. She was selected for an official Americana Convention Showcase, official showcases at both NERFA and SERFA (Folk Alliance) and is a four-time Kerrville New Folk Finalist, a Telluride Troubadour and a two-time Wildflower Performing Songwriter Top 10 Finalist. To the man at my show last night who came up and (very surprisingly) told me my voice sounded like someone who would be singing in the cast of “Hamilton”, YOU MADE MY NIGHT.
Best compliment I’ve gotten on my singing in ages, maybe ever.
Except for that time I was Mary Poppins, for a little girl‘s birthday entertainment, and when I started singing “Spoonful of Sugar”, she looked up at me in wonder and said, ”You’re the REAL Mary Poppins!”
Yes, that was pretty good, and I’m still holding onto it, all these years later.
See, I’m still a Musical Theatre geek masquerading as a Folk/Country songwriter geek.
The geek, of course, remains, no matter what music I’m performing.
Anyway, dude, you totally made my night.
Was totally belting “In the greatest city in the world! In the greatest city in the wor-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-orld!” all the way home.

Here's a little nudge to check out our fun Holiday tune, "Party 'Round My Favorite Tree"! This is mine and Brandon's first ever original Christmas/Holiday song! The inspiration for the song came from the guitar-playing style of Spartanburg, SC native, Hank Garland, who played the instantly recognizable lead guitar parts on Christmas classics, "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree' and "Jingle Bell Rock". The main thing I remember about recording this vocal is that - I was about 20 or so weeks pregnant at the time - and Baby Rory was just a-kickin' and dancin' in there the whole time we were in the studio. I took that as a good sign. :)

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I am completely devastated and heartbroken to learn of the passing of Thomas Valle-Guatemala, from cancer. He was such a kind, gentle, creative and giving soul. He built and maintained my website ever since I first had a website, going on nearly 20 years. He always helped me with it, walked me though updates and technical questions, with a multitude of patience for my non-computer-understanding self. Any time I asked him for help, he was right there for me. I always said to him, “Thomas, I don’t know what I would do without you!” And he would laugh.
He lived in L.A, so I hadn’t seen him in person in many years, but we stayed in regular communication. Most recently, he redesigned my site for my “Witness” release and moved my site to a new server. He was always there for me when I needed him. Always. Without fail. I am just heartbroken.
I didn’t even know he was sick.
I didn’t get to say goodbye.
What I wouldn’t give to say “Thank you” one more time and tell him how much his friendship and help meant to me over the years.
Thomas, what am I going to do without you?

Last night at The Peacock Performing Arts Center songwriter round was such a wonderful treat. I have been a fan of Mac Leapheart for many years, and wow, Gabe Lee just knocked my socks off. Come over to the historic Hampton-Pinckney District of Greenville for a free event that celebrates our community. Several of these homes will be hosting artists right on their porches! Bring your lawn chair and have a wonderful afternoon. There will also be food and beverage trucks out and about.

Sadly, my Augusta Canal Music Cruise scheduled for tonight had to be canceled due to poor weather. I will hopefully be back there next year.
