As February comes to an end, we want to take a moment to highlight one of our favorite February moments celebrating FCCLA Week and CTAE Month with FCCLA Day at the Capitol! We had an amazing time advocating for FACS, FCCLA, and CTAE under the Gold Dome! We are so thankful for the support of our state legislators who continue to value and support CTAE programs and CTSOs across Georgia! A special thank you to Representative Shaw Blackmon, Representative Bethany Ballard, Representative Robert Dickey, and Representative Noel Williams for taking time to meet with our students! We admire your leadership and appreciate your commitment to education and our students!
We loved having Jacob Peed from speak to our students about opportunities at GSW!!! AND we really loved celebrating that one of our members, Zyon Mathis, has been ACCEPTED to GSW!!! If you’re looking to prepare yourself for future success, FCCLA truly provides “The Ultimate Journey” for that! ❤️ P.S. We can’t wait to be on the GSW campus next week for Region STAR Events!

Throwback Thursday to some of our favorite December moments! We had so much fun playing the Saran Wrap game and decorating cookies at our Chapter Meeting and loved being Santa’s helpers and being a part of Santa Drop at Lake Joy Primary! If you missed out on these moments, make it your 2024 resolution to go on “The Ultimate Journey” with FCCLA this semester and take part in the community service, competitions, and fun planned for the spring!
Join us NEXT THURSDAY for 📚BOOK BINGO📚 in the Main Cafeteria from 3:15 PM - 4:15 PM! This event is FREE to ALL students (even non-FCCLA members) with the donation of a new or gently used (no torn pages or cover, drawings or markings, etc.) children’s book! Each book donation will = 1 free BINGO card play. PRIZES WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR BINGO WINNERS!!! See Ms. Hankins (Room 602) or Dr. Tolleson (Room 708) for more info!
Join the FCCLA holiday fun on Thursday, December 14th for our Chapter Meeting! We will participate in a community service activity, cookie decorating, games, and more! This is sure to be a fun meeting that you won’t want to miss!!!

Go the distance with your leadership at Fall Leadership Conference! FLC will take place November 16th at the FFA-FCCLA Center. The cost is $75 and includes a t-shirt and meal. HOCO FCCLA had an incREDible time at the 2023 National Leadership Conference in Denver, Colorado! We enjoyed Denver by going to a Colorado Rockies game, Elitch Gardens, Meow Wolf, and exploring the 16th Street Mall Area. We are so proud of all our competitors who worked so hard on their STAR Events all year. Congratulations to Leadership and Public Policy Advocate STAR Events for receiving Bronze. Instructional Video Design for receiving Silver. Lastly, but certainly not least, Chapter Service Project Display by Mackensie Walker and Amber Iglinsky for receiving Gold and placing Top 10 at the National level, as well as FCCLA Chapter Website by Andy Lu and Hannah Koppel for receiving Gold and placing 2nd in the Nation!! Olivia Morrison, Georgia FCCLA State President, made us proud through her leadership at the National Leadership Conference during the Georgia State Meeting, the STAR Event Session, and National Officer Candidate election process. We are so proud of these students! #🐻⬇️

Today we are highlighting an incREDible experience our members had at FCCLA Day at the Capitol! Not only did our students get to tour our State Capitol, they also had the wonderful opportunity to watch legislation in action and meet with our amazing local legislators and even our Governor! Thank you so much Governor Kemp, Senator Walker, and Representatives Blackmon and Ballard for making this an unforgettable experience and taking time to meet with our students! We truly appreciate all that you do to support students and educators across Houston County and the State of Georgia and your continued support of CTAE!
Tomorrow we will end an incREDible FCCLA Week in a really cool way! Show your FCCLA pride and see an FCCLA representative during lunch for an ice cream treat to end your FCCLA Week on a sweet note!!!
Tomorrow’s FCCLA Week Activity will be a virtual activity! While several FCCLA members will be celebrating FCCLA Week at Day at the Capitol, we still have a fun member challenge planned for you! Take a photo with one of the FCCLA Week flyers in the hallway and share with us to receive a small prize. AND for a bonus, help us celebrate incREDible FACS teachers by sharing a THANK YOU post (video, photo, or even a thank you note or flyer) to a FACS teacher that you have now or have had in middle school to thank them for their impact and wish them a Happy FCCLA Week! Students who complete both challenges and share with us on Instagram will be entered into a drawing for a FCCLA Swag Bag! Winners will be announced next week!
MANDATORY State Leadership Conference meeting for ALL STAR Event Competitors, State Event Competitors, Knowledge Bowl Team Members, and those interested in attending SLC after school TOMORROW (2/14) in room 602. HOCO FCCLA at Region 7 STAR Events yesterday and are advancing to the State Leadership Conference with 6 gold and 6 silver medals!! Congratulations to these incREDible leaders and best of luck as they continue working hard for their competitions in March!

Congratulations to Madi Wellman - 1st place Cupcake Decorating Competition, Laney Davis - Distinguished Statesman Award Recipient, along with Maggie Duke, Laney Davis, Neyo Zhao, and Cooper Short - Knowledge Bowl Team advancing to State Leadership Conference!
We had an incREDible time at the Fall Leadership Rally!
🎉CONGRATULATIONS🎉 to Laney Davis who won 4th Place in the State Themed Speech Competition!!! We are also bringing home 3rd Place in the Chapter Brochure Design Competition! Your Chapter President, Maggie Duke, helped other HOCO FCCLA members with that collaborative competition and represented our chapter in receiving recognition for that win! This is definitely looking to be an incREDible year for HOCO FCCLA!!!
