We Fund Care

To establish relationships and assist families with the hidden costs associated with battling cancer.

As there are many hidden costs associated with cancer, it is our goal that, in Ryan's memory, this foundation will assist families struggling with the financial burden of treatments, accommodations and the unseen myriad of expenses associated with cancer. Our goal is to utilize 100% of the funds raised through the tournament and donations towards assisting families in need. All out of pocket expen

Our Family Lounge in Pediatrics at Grand River Hospital. It was awesome to see how prestine it looks and to be told that families use it on a regular basis. They appreciate the opportunity just to get away for a few minutes during the day. Thanks to our supporters, as this lounge would not be possible without you.

Our Annual contribution to the Ronald McDonald House in Hamilton for our adoption of rooms 305, 306 and 307. Very rewarding for our team and supporters knowing that we help 3 families each and every day with accommodations while their child is admitted at McMaster Children's Hospital. ❤❤❤

Good morning families that we support.

One of our supporters has asked me to relay an offer that they came up with for Halloween. They are having a contest for the families that want to participate and there will be prizes for the winners.

Below is their offer:

As a proud supporter of We Fund Care, we would like to invite you and your family to our 1st Annual DiLoreto Team Pumpkin Carving Contest.

There is no obligation, however, if you are interested in participating and would like a pumpkin and tools for the contest, please let Valentino know and we will arrange to get it to you.

If you are not interested in participating in the contest but would still like a pumpkin, we are happy to provide a pumpkin and tools for your family to enjoy.

Goodluck and Happy Halloween!

Klark’s Run2FundCare - In Support of WeFundCare, organized by Klark McGarr 03/06/2021

This is an amazing story of a young man that decided to challenge himself and at the same time, raise funds for his best friend's charity. Meet Klark, besides being a very determined individual, he is an 11 year veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces. He is also a Director of the Ryan Saturno Patient Amenities Fund, known as We Fund Care charity.

Below is his short story..................

On Thursday July 1st, 2021 I will be attempting to run the Cataraqui trail from end to end (104 km) in under 18 hours.

For someone who is a recreational runner at best, I know I will need a very strong ‘Why?’ if I am to be successful in this endeavour.

Enter We Fund Care.

If you are unfamiliar with this charity, it was established in 2016 shortly after the passing of my best friend Ryan Saturno after his lengthy battle with cancer. Our mission is to raise funds in order to cover the out of pocket expenses for families with children undergoing cancer treatment. These expenses include, fuel, groceries, hotel stays, lost wages and the list goes on.

If you’re able to, please go to https://gofund.me/6653c619
to donate! All donations will go directly to wefundcare and Tax receipts will be issued for all donations.

Please share this post. We can use all of the marketing and networking we can get. Social Media is a great tool, so let's use it to help Klark reach and surpass his goal

Thank you

It was 5 years ago today that Ryan lost his battle to cancer 💙 It was a devastating day to say the least, but it was the day that he inspired us and gave us the motivation to build his legacy and start helping other young adults with similar life challenges. I am 100% certain that today he is looking down at us smiling and proud of what We Fund Care has accomplished. Thank you to all of our supporters and followers 🙏❤

During this holiday season we have been especially thrilled with the efforts made by children to raise money to help families in need. Maya, a local 12 year old, made cannolis with her grandmother to sell at Christmas. Not only did they sell out in a little over an hour, Maya raised $2000 with her cannoli sales!!! Maya’s family also gave gifts for an Elmira infant currently undergoing cancer treatment in Hamilton. The parents are staying at one of the rooms we’ve adopted at the Ronald McDonald House. This is only possible because of donations we receive from caring people like you!

If you are considering giving to a charitable organization this Christmas we urge you to give local. We hope you might consider We Fund Care to help us provide emotional and financial support to families whose child is undergoing life-saving cancer treatment.

We wish you Christmas blessings and continued health and prosperity for 2021!

Thank you to the staff at St. Joseph Catholic School in Guelph for their donation of $1,300 this Christmas. Their generous donation will go towards supporting a We Fund Care family this holiday season.

Thank you to Cory’s mom for your kind words. This is why we do what we do - helping families financially with expenses while their child is undergoing life-saving cancer treatment. If you’re looking for a local charity to support this Christmas, check us out at 𝘄𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲.𝗰𝗼𝗺. We are an organization that gives as much as it takes - in memory of Ryan Saturno.

2020 GOLF FUNDRAISER | WE FUND CARE

We're ready to golf, are you? COVID-19 has forced many changes this year, including our annual fundraising tournament. That being said, We Fund Care still has many families that we wish to support, and continue to support. So instead of an official tournament on September 13th at Conestogo Golf, we have come up with the idea that for the remaining month of August until September 13th, you are encouraged to go out and golf at your favourite, local courses and fundraise in Ryan's name. As every year, we are asking for a $50 donation from each golfer, however there is a bit of twist this year. If you register your foursome on our website, we are encouraging you to approach friends and family to help fundraise. Each foursome that reaches $500, those golfers will receive a $25 gift card to Moxies! We ask that everyone submit their fundraising dollars throughout the remainder of the summer, or by September 13th to be eligible for the gift card. If you still wish to come out and experience a "tournament" atmosphere, Conestogo has generously agreed to hold some spots for those golfing. Golfers must contact the course individually to reserve a tee-time, should they wish to join some of us at Conestogo. Please note, due to COVID-19, there will NOT be a formal dinner and tournament games this year. We know this is a lot of information and changes this year, but we hope we can continue to support those families that in need. If you require more information, or clarification on anything, please visit the 2020 Golf Fundraising Page on https://www.wefundcare.com/golf2020.

Also some other exciting news we wish to share. WE ARE OFFICIALLY A REGISTERED CHARITY! It's been a long road but finally the Canada Revenue Agency has granted us charitable status! In these dark times, your constant, unwavering support has been a beacon of light. We look forward to maybe seeing some of you on September 13th, and for those that are golfing this month, please let us know by hastagging or tagging us on Facebook and Instagram.

wefundcare.com It's simple - register above, book your tee time, then send us your total donation for your group, whether you are golfing at Conestoga G.C. or your own home course.

On August 16th, 2015 our daughter Abigayle was admitted to our local hospital with a fever of 108.9 degrees C and unable to move her left leg. After 3 days of tests and observation she was transferred to McMaster Hospital in Hamilton to determine what was causing these conditions.

September 17th, 2015, after 31 days of tests, tests and more tests our family’s worst nightmare became reality. Abigayle was diagnosed with Stage IV of a rare and aggressive form of cancer named Neuroblastoma. The news was crushing to us as well as Abigayle’s 3 older sisters Faith, Ashley and Samantha.

So many things crossed our mind. What will doctors do to help her? How much time will she be in hospital? Who will watch our older daughters while we are away with Abigayle for treatment, tests and check-ups? How can Abigayle’s mother still own and operate a daycare while keeping Abigayle safe and away from possible infections (day care had to be closed to protect Abigayle)? How much time will Abigayle’s dad miss from work?

Just shy of 5 years, treatment and tests across 4 different hospitals (3 in Ontario, Canada and 1 in Grand Rapids, Michigan) our Foo Fighting Warrior Princess and Waterloo’s Toughest Cookie is still fighting. Not all days have been good, some absolutely devastating, but there has been some great days as well. One day we will not forget is the day Val Saturno reached out to our family to introduce himself and We Fund Care.

He told us about why he started We Fund Care. To honor his son who fought bravely with dignity, but lost his fight to cancer. The financial difficulties his family went through while dealing with mounting expenses at home and to do his best to help any family in the same situation so they do not have to go through that as well.

We Fund Care has helped our family immensely with support to cover fuel and meals while Abigayle continues to fight daily for her life. Having that financial support from We Fund Care is one less stress for us while we continue to do everything we can to support Abigayle and her sisters. It is great comfort to know they are there and helping.

Thank you We Fund Care for everything you have done and continue to do to help us.

I just wanted to thank you so much for helping me and my two kids through this trying time. I haven't picked up the gift card as of yet but when I do I will email you to confirm I've received it. I would like you to meet Owen. He just completed his fourth cycle of chemo and he has two more to go. Oddly enough he will be 1 on November 13 and last year when he was born he was here as a cardiac patient. Shortly After his heart repair we were diagnosed with AML. We look forward to the day that we can give back to We Fund Care so we can help others that walk the same path we have. Thank you for leaving a footprint of kindness on my family's hearts.
