Aakhol is located at heart of Assam which offers mouth watering Assamese ethnic food such as smoked fish& chicken with Bamboo shootwrapped inside banana leaf,Baanhor chungar maanxo which means meat or fish cooked inside bamboo stick etc.

Bhaapot dia maach (sTEAMED FISH) RECIPE-
Ingredients
Fish: 6 pieces
Mustard seed: 1 tbsps
Green chillies: 2
Sliced onions: 3 medium sized
Salt: to taste
To garnish: mustard oil – 2 tbsps,
: green chillies
: coriander leaves
Method
Wash, clean and drain the fish.
Make a fine paste of the mustard seed and green chillies with a little salt.
In a bowl mix the fish with mustard seed paste, chopped onion and salt.
Steam cook for twenty minutes or until done.
Garnish with mustard oil, green chillies and coriander leaves.
Serve hot Bhapot Diya Mach with rice and enjoy.
Notes: Can also add turmeric powder.
