Go Mason!

‘Can do’ attitude drives West Bend middle schooler: ‘He’s the only kid that has band every day’ WEST BEND -- It takes a lot of courage to stand in front of a crowd and perform the national anthem. It is a difficult song -- even more so when hundreds of sports fans are watching. But that did not seem to bother one West Bend middle schooler. Every musician will tell you, first chair is where it'...

TONIGHT! The WBHS bands' spring concert piggy-backs a truly powerful art show/event, and we're so honored to collaborate with Mr. Scott Lone and Mrs. Deborah Bast-Prahl.
Our annual West Bend High Schools’ (1305 E. Decorah Rd.) Holocaust art show, "Forbidden Art of the N**i Era", is currently installed in the Silver Lining Performing Arts Center atrium. The gallery reception for the art show is tonight (Wednesday, April 18) from 4 - 7 PM. Hot hors d'oeuvres and sweet treats (thank you Mrs. Sally Heuer!) will be served. Also, a vocal and string ensemble will be performing 'Oseh Shalom', a Hebrew song for peace, during the gallery reception. There will be a silent auction that will include some of the artwork, a few pieces of Mr. Jay Krueger's ceramic work, and a gift certificate for a family or senior portrait session. Proceeds will be sent to a social service agency for Holocaust survivors.
Our concert is directly after the art show closes at 7pm and each band will feature Jewish music and/or music by Jewish composers. Wind Ensemble would also like to welcome the incredibly talented Mrs. Kaila Bingen as our guest violin soloist!
The art show and the concert are free!
The Forbidden Art of the N**i Era Art Show is generously funded by The Olga Lengyel Institute for Holocaust Studies and Human Rights.
