Our little runt just passed away
As you can see in this photo the runt was half the size of the other two. We don't think it was latching for feedings. But the other 2 are healthy and mama is doing a good job taking care of them.
We are kicking off our partnership with Clear The Shelters! All adoption fees are waived from August 10, 2024- September 10, 2024. We do suggest a monitary donate of any size so that we can continue to care for animals.
We have so many amazing pets looking for forever homes. All pets are fully vetted.

We are so excited that this year we are partnering with NBC's Clear The Shelter!
The 10th anniversary of Clear the Shelters kicks off with the Clear the Shelters Fund! The campaign officially takes place Saturday, August 10 - Tuesday, September 10, 2024. They are even doing a Match Challenge. Starting Tuesday, August 13 at 1 p.m. ET, Hill's Pet Nutrition will be matching donations dollar for dollar up to $10,000. That's right, the first $10,000 donated to organizations participating in the Clear The Shelters Fund will be matched dollar for dollar! This is $10K raised across all participating organizations, not $10K for each organization. Once the $10K is met, this week's match is over.

Late last night we were brought a dog that was found on a sidewalk in Pleasant Grove in active labor. At the time she had only one puppy. This morning she had 2 more. Right now mama and babies are doing well. They are resting comfortably.
Our sweet little Goldie was just adopted. She came to us with 5 other dogs from a hoarding situation. We are so grateful that she found a loving family to give her the life she deserves.
Scrat is available for adoption. He was named after the squirrel from Ice Age, and we think he is a dead ringer.
Scrat is 10 years old. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchiped, and Heartworm negative. He also recently had dental work.
He is very sweet and snuggly. He gets along with dogs and cats. He loves to give kisses.
Email [email protected] if you are interested in adopting.
Scrat is up after dental surgery. 3 teeth extracted. He will be available tomorrow
Today's spotlight pet is Polar Bear.
He came to us at 3 weeks old with 3 other babies. They were from a litter of 10 that came from Gun Barrel, TX. Their mama was feral and all the puppies were sick. Sadly several of the babies died. We believed that the puppies wer Labrador/Pyrenees mixes because several of the puppies had double dew claws. Polar Bear has a single dew claw
He was the smallest and the most timid of all the puppies we had. He is also the only one that has not been adopted.
He is now almost 10 months old and desperate to find his forever home.
Since he is a long stay pup we have waived his adoption fee.
He loves to be outdoors and is very active. His favorite thing to do is play in the mud. He is good with other dogs and is very passive. He gets beaten up by chihuahuas despite being over 40lbs.
He is very timid and scared of everything, but quite the cuddler once he warms up. He is also crate trained.
He would be best in a home with another dog and needs to be with a family that can work with him to help hm gain confidence.
If you are interested in adopting or fostering Polar Bear please email [email protected]
Today's spotlight pet is Rocky.
Rocky came to us with 2 other dogs (Bella and Mazie- both have been adopted). He was an owner surrender after his owner lost her job and home.
Rocky had horrible skin allergies and hairloss and he was also heartworm positive.
We have given Rocky love and support and treated his medical issues. He is now heartworm negative, and his hair is growing back.
Rocky gets along with other dogs, bur he is the alpha and lets everyone know it
He does not like cats.
He can be quite the cuddler once je warms up, and is the best guard dog.
He is 10 years old but has a lot of energy.
He is 16lbs.
If you are interested in adopting of fostering Rocky please email [email protected] or send a DM

Dogs are located in Dallas, Texas. We are foster based and do not have a facility.
- Polar Bear (adoption fee waived)
He is 9 months old and weighs around 40lbs. He is a Labrador mix. We believe possibly Pyrenees because he has dewclaws and a few of his siblings had double dews. He is very active and loves to be outdoors. He is very passive with other dogs and loves to play. He is crate trained. He is very weary of new people and takes some time to warm up.
-Knut (adoption fee waived)
He is 1 1/2 years old. He weighs around 75lbs. He loves to be outside and plays well with other dogs. He is a big goofy boy that is scared of his own shadow. Despite being a giant, he loves to snuggle. He takes some time to warm up to people. He will bark and chase cats.
-Rocky
He is 10 years old and weighs 16lbs. He is a chihuahua mix. He is the alpha, and lets everyone know. He is good with other smaller dogs, but not good with cats. He is a good protector and is very snuggly. He is selective with people. He recently underwent Heartworm treatment, and is now completely healthy.
-Goldie
She came to us from a hoarding situation with several other chihuahuas. She is 6 years old and weighs 6lbs. She is the most timid of her siblings. She does not like to be picked up, but will come to you and snuggle. She is also fearful of the outside. She will need an experienced and patient adopter.
-Brownie
He came to us with Blondie from Corsicana shelter. They were taken in as part of a hoarding situation. He is a chihuahua mix and is 2 1/2 years old and weighs 13.5lbs. He is a big silly boy that is very loving. He is very shy and will hide, but he wants love. He also loves to be outside. He is good with dogs and cats. He has some hairloss due to skin allergies, but he is doing well now, and the hair is coming back in.
-Blondie
She came to us with Brownie. She is 2 1/2 years old and 9.6lbs. She is a chihuahua mix. She is the most timid of the pair. Once she trusts you she is such a happy and playful girl. She can be nippy as well. Good with other dogs and loves to play outside. She would do best in a home with another smaller playful dog.
-Mochi
He is 4 years old and 11 lbs. He is a chihuahua/dachshund mix (or chiweenie). He is a funny guy that loves to bark. He loves to be outdoors and is very snuggly once he trusts you. He is good with smaller dogs, not good witu cats.
-Chunk
Our sweet Chunk has been on a weight loss journey. He has lost nearly10lbs since he arrived, but is still a big boy weighing 20lbs. He is 7 years old and a chihuahua mix. He is very sweet and loves to snuggle, but doesnt like to be picked up. Despite being so big, he is quite active. He is good with other dogs but will bark at cats. He loves people.
-Freddy
This little guy is a chihuahua/terrier mix. He is 1 1/2 years old and weighs 7lbs. He is very active and playful. He loves to be outdoors chasing his dog friends. He is good with smaller dogs but annoys cats. He is very weary of strangers. But once we warms up he will follow yoi everywhere. He loves to snuggle and give kisses.
Our sweet little Reese passed away.
She went downhill quick! She was 12 and did have a heart murmur and was in heart failure, so we assume that is what happened. This morning she was walking around, and then just deteriorated rapidly. At least she died loved and in a much better condition than when she came to us.
RIP baby girl.
Knut may be the only dog in the world that runs through berry bushes to give himself a punk rock hairdo!
Meet Rosie and Daisy. They are 2 year old ferrets looking for their forever home.
They are a bonded pair
Our little genet made the paper!

We are so grateful that they took Annie from us. They created an amazing enclosure for her.
Amazing adoption today!
Ziggy & Stardust were just adopted together! They are going to an amazing home with 2 amazing people. We are so happy for them.
After loosing some chickens, quail, and a rabbit to this extreme heat, Blessing & Hex have been brought inside. A few of the birds came in for a little while when it looked like they were in distress.
The animals all have shade & lots of water, but with today getting up to 102 with the heat index of 108, all the animals outside are suffering.
Please check on your livestock.
Ziggy and Stardust were picked up from the vet and are doing great.
Available for adoption tomorrow.
Ziggy and Stardust, the 2 dogs found as strays and picked up from Pet Supplies Plus are up for adoption.
They will be getting vetted tomorrow and will be ready to go to a forever home Tuesday 7/2.
They are both 2 years old. We believe they are Havanese or possibly Lhasa Apso mixes.
Email [email protected] if you are interested in adopting.
It is amazing how many people came together to rescue this little lamb. Her mama was killed by a pack of dogs early in the morning. And leaving this lamb alone in the woods was not something anyone wanted. It took the entire day, but she was caught.
Tonight she is with us, safe, and resting.
Thanks Meagan Probus Kema Condor for quite an adventure today.
Update on Shrek.
Warning 🚩🚩🚩Graphic images
Shrek has had several seizures. He also has some kind of trauma from vehicles.
He was taken to the vet today by our foster. He started freaking out in the vehicle and was attacking the crate he was traveling in. Overly stimulated, he started having a seizure and was clamped on to the crate. Luckily he had arrived at the clinic, and a vet was able to come out to the car and help calm him and get him out of the crate & vehicle. His mouth was bleeding as a result, the metal wires were bent. There was so much blood that it covered the crate, his mouth, and his legs.
The vet believes he has some major trauma connected to vehicles. As a result he gets overly stimulated which causes him to hyperventilate which in turn causes him have a seizure. The foster will watch him to see if he has seizures in the home, and we will reasses if that happens. Shrek was given Gabapentin to help calm him during car rides.
The vet also said he was riddled with infection. They believe it is because of the horrific flea infestation. His eyes, ears, and legs are swollen as a result of the allergies. He also has a fungal infection on his skin.
He has vision issues associated with the seizures and disorientation. He has hearing issues due to the infection in his ears.
He was prescribed several medications, and we are hopeful of the outcome. The vet aged him at 5-6 years old. And what is amazing is that despite all he has gone through, he is the most loving and sweet boy that just want to be loved.
Please consider donating to help us cover his medical expenses.
Sundae was just adopted by a family with 6 kids and a Frenchie. She will have so much love. We are so happy for them.
Despite being full, we were able to rescue this sweet boy from Friends of Glenn Heights Animal Shelter since a foster stepped up.
He is in pretty rough shape. He has some of the worst flea infestation we have seen. He had 2 baths, a Capstar, and Bravecto, so we are hopeful. He has also started amoxicillin to clear up the infection in his eyes.
He is only 35lbs so he will also need to put on a little weight.
As soon as he is healthy we will get him neutered and put him up for adoption.
His new name is Shrek!
Last Sunday we met Marissa Rudd to assist with an animal hoarding situation in Henderson, TX. The elderly woman living on the property was living in horrific conditions and unable to properly care for her animals.
The were 27 cats, some of which were pregnant. There were Great Pyrenees, Irish Wolfhounds, and a few Labrador mix breeds. There were also 4 puppies that were 10 days old covered in maggots. Apparently the mama dog was killing and eating her puppies. Probably due to starvation.
We stepped in to assist with 6 chihuahuas on the property. They are between the ages of 4-10 years old. They were infested with fleas and their nails were so long they were curled over. One of the chihuahuas is also said to have seizures.
We are so grateful that our partners at The Colony Shelter were able to help by taking 2. They took Ladybug & Betty Boop. They are getting vetted and will be available for adoption soon.

Our wonderful foster & former adopter (turned rescuer) Heather Ross has the chihuahua with seizures. His new name is Gizmo. He is currently in quarantine and decompressing. He was probably the most scared of all the pups we took in. Heather is working to gain his trust.
We currently are looking for a rescue that can help with the 3 other ones. We have 2 males and a female.
Scrat (named after the squirrel from the kid's movie, Ice Age) is 10 years old. He is neutered but desperately needs dental. He is quite a lover and will give kisses.
Rowan (means little redhead in Irish). He is probably around 6 years old and is the smallest (his name used to be Tine Tine). He is very affectionate, but can get a little nippy. He is a bit of a brat at times.
Goldie is a shy little girl. She is around 8 years old. She will need some help trusting and some time to decompress. She is one of the smallest females.
Please contact us if your rescue can help. We are only looking for no-kill options for these pups. And they are not available to the public. They will become available once they have been fully vetted by a rescue. They are also trying to find rescues that can help with the 2 lab mixes. As of now I believe they are still on the property.
If you would like to donate for any of these animal's care you can do so on each rescue/shelter's individual page.
Or donate to Pond of Love-

We are at capacity. We will not be able to take any animals until we can get some adopted.
Please check our website for available pets.

Remove the Hook
Pond of Love animal rescue was founded by Jennifer Pond after she found a dog on the side of the road with a hook through his leg. She rushed him to an emergency vet where they took the dog into surgery to remove it. Everyone at the animal hospital fell in love with the dog, and started calling him [Captain] Hook. The surgery was over $700. Jennifer started a go fund me page for the dog, and in less than 24 hours raised enough money to cover the surgery. Jennifer has always been rescuing animals in need. But this act of generosity from others encouraged her to start a non profit to help abused, sick, injured and abandonded animals.
