Inspiring women with tips on nutrition, health, wellness, travel and tools for motherhood
I never post things like this, but seeing this on just warmed my heart and I had to share❤️
We are all connected. Women need to take care of each other as much as we can. We need to take care of women around the world that are suffering. Seeing this made me think that while my girls are worrying about which hair elastic color to use in their ponytails, kids are running for their lives, scared, unable to understand what is happening to their world and their mothers are trying everything to keep them safe and alive.
It's humanity. It's community. It’s love. It’s togetherness. It’s compassion. Women make that happen.
Happy International Womens Day ❤️
Happy weekend peeps! This is me in Elle magazine over 15 years ago. So much has happened since then. This is what I would say to my 25 yr old self:
✨Appreciate your individual path
✨Trust the process and have patience
✨Move your body in ways that you love
✨Eat the cake!
✨Just breathe
✨Your past trauma doesn’t define you
✨Be big and let your light shine bright

Want to find out more about what a plant medicine ceremony is and how it kind of changed my life??🌱 Watch Part 1 of my video with my spiritual healer where we chat about all the things: trauma and healing, the body, mind, and spirit, and of course, what a plant medicine ceremony is all about!🧘🏾♀️
◀️Some backstory:
I met Helen about 8 months ago and the changes I have seen in myself have been astounding. I have done 3 plant medicine ceremonies with her (headed into my 4th!) and also do spirit reiki with her. With Helen, I have been able to face my past traumas, heal old wounds, and trust in myself, the universe, and my path. I keep going back because I keep uncovering more and more about myself… like layers of an onion as she says. I truly believe that this work has helped me breakthrough so many walls, heal my anxiety, and just be more of an all around badass.
Please watch and comment below with all of your thoughts and questions!!
Okkkk….Lemme give you a little backstory. I was just going about my own business, living a life of great skin in which I could do anything to, great digestion (I always had things that I avoided but could tolerate), and being comfortable with my past when BAM!.. It all changed with simply turning 40. Nothing felt the same.
✨My super easy skin got really difficult to keep clear and very sensitive to all products, even ones that I had been using for years .
✨My digestion took a turn for the worst… I didn’t change anything, I just couldn’t tolerate any deviation from the norm. I had some testing done and I was suffering from serious gut dysbiosis! 🤦🏾♀️
✨My hormones went nutso! Check it…I started to bleed between cycles, got checked and my body just “decided” to produce large uterine polyps (which are thankfully benign), but I needed to get them surgically removed. Twice (once for each year over 40!) 🤷🏾♀️
✨My past traumas crept back in. We all have past traumas, big or small. No matter what, I guess they weren’t resolved because I became an emotional mess… Everything triggered them… certain words, conversations, people, smells… it's like they were asleep for a very long time and now were back to wreak havoc on my emotional stability.
Ya gerl is leaning into the 40’s transition this week because it is so prominent and I truly think there isn’t enough info and support for ladies of this age bracket. So ladies… lets have some real talk!!
💬Comment below with your stories… I know you have them!!

Oooooh! Mama got a lil’ weekday night out last night! Good company, bomb food… a perfect way to start the weekend!
So no joke, in order for me to go out for dinner during the week, I had to have two sitters! One to take my son to basketball practice, and one to stay with the girls… like what? It’s crazy, but I bet there are some moms out there that can relate!
When was the last time you went out and it wasn’t a debacle of some sort?? Let's chat in the comments👇🏾

That full moon energy got me walkin’ into the short week feeling cool, calm, and collected… 🌕😉
What does MLK day mean to you?
To me, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. made my life what it is today. I am part of a *******al family, and created a in*******al family. My family couldn’t be more different looking. (Actually, my extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins is even more of a rainbow 🌈!). We LISTEN to each other, explain views, debate, and most importantly, we make SPACE for everyone’s feelings. And if things don’t sit well, we let it rest and then come back for more understanding.
In the end, it isn’t about winning or losing, it’s about tolerance and understanding. And above all of these things, it comes down to LOVE.
Open your ears, open your hearts, and celebrate differences with your friends, your neighbors, and your families. That’s what will make the world a better place ❤️
A little midday for you…
Ya’ll, ya gerl used to run herself into the ground for others. Family, friends, you name it… I spent so much time sacrificing myself. Especially as a mom (I’m sure some of you can relate!).
NOT ANY MORE!! I am all about filling myself up now, making sure my basic needs are met so that I can be that much better for everyone that touches my life. Sometimes I fall off (I’m not perfect!) , but I notice it and then retreat for a bit. Usually it is that I need some quiet, some calm, and then I can be back with society.
I encourage you… take care of yourself… every day and in every way. Find the little things that bring you joy so you can pass it on and shine bright ❤️✨
What are you doing to take care of yourself today? Comment 👇🏾
Looking to the rest of 2022 like…. Heyyyyy new friend, let’s create something magical! A few thoughts:
While I was creating my resolutions and goals list on January 1st (a full page of things… I even surprised myself!), I noticed a pattern…. the letter “C” was front and center. The 5C’s that are my words for this year in my relationships (including the relationship with myself):
Compassion - Compromise - Communication - Care - Cuddles
I also noticed the letter “C” in terms of meditation. In my times of stillness (which I plan to relish in more this year), my focus is:
Calm - Connection - Creativity
I believe that just focusing on these words and having this as a framework for this year will help me achieve strides in all aspects of my goals.
This coming year, I want to take my time (hence this Jan 4th post and not Jan 1st!) and create something that is fulfilling for me, and in turn something that resonates with all of you. I am following my body and that feeling in my solar plexus to point me to my true purpose, which I believe is connecting people to information that can help all of us live our best (and only) lives.
So look out for lots of new stuff to come! This month I plan to lean into more health and nutrition info for you all… I am full of little tips that can help you get your physical body looking and feeling good. I will also be creating more for my channel, with a specific on focus on the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health of women in my age group (40’s baby!!). So if you haven’t subscribed yet, please do! Link is in my bio!!
So excited to share our first with you guys! We were so lucky to be booked for the 125th year of the Denver Zoo lights. It was so much fun for all of us, plus we got an insider viewing of the gorgeous lights with no crowds 😉.
To be honest, I was a little nervous about working with my family (especially the kiddos since they had no idea what to expect) but they all did great! Proud of my crew!

Ok, this is the coziest fit that I have in wardrobe!! The Fabletics leggings are sooo comfy, ribbed, and move and breathe really well. (I even got a couple compliments on the trail!). I wanted this one because I needed a good long sleeved shirt that I can wear in the fall months for hiking and running. Best part for me, the little back pocket that I can throw my id, cash, and even my phone so I don’t have to carry anything. Basically, I because it is cute, practical, and feels like a dream 😌.
New styles drop every Thursday so hop over there and get yours!!
Peeps!! Mama got to work with Anna from UnClutter CO on my kitchen and family room and it was amazing! I finally have a space that I love, systems that work for our whole family, and access to everything I missed because I couldn’t see it. She had loads of awesome information that you need to be implementing into your organizing. You seriously have to see this (and book her if you are anywhere in CO). It's like magic!

Yay!! For the first time this season, it finally felt like fall. This weekend, we took the kids to to pick out their pumpkins and have tons of fall fun. Even though it was crazy windy, we still had fun doing rides, the mini corn maze, petting some goats, and even got in a pony ride. Gotta be honest, I don’t think I went to one pumpkin patch growing up, so it is so fun to watch the kids revel in all the activities. Great little Saturday morning action for my crew! Have you guys made it to a pumpkin patch yet???
I am so excited for you guys to check out my new YouTube video of our family’s top activities in none other than my hometown, ! So may not be the place that you choose to visit, but I swear, if you have a little time or are close to that area, there is so much to do and see, especially with the kiddos. This summer, we were so lucky to spend two weeks with my parents and brother in upstate NY and honestly, the kids still won’t stop talking about this trip and all the fun we had. Even though a lot of these activities were kid-centric, mama had a blast doing them all (and getting a little rest in while the grandparents took on some kid duties! Let me know what you think!

I have a question for you: do you radically accept yourself? As part of my self healing journey, I have been diving deep into myself and what I’m finding is that I have a lot of work to do on having compassion for myself, sitting with my feelings (no matter what they are), and radically accepting myself. I am focused on living authentically and I believe that to do that, I must find that radical acceptance. I read a fantastic book by the great Tara Brach (called Radical Acceptance) and did a little book review!

Happy birthday to…ME! 🎂 Another year around the sun… so happy for my health, and the health of my family and friends. I am working today The Broadmoor and last night I had a luxurious evening of a good 😉, a great steak dinner (with key lime pie for dessert), and an evening walk alone to reflect on this past year. Today I woke up early, did some bday meditation and yoga for new beginnings. I feel a shift, I feel love, light, and positive energy going into my next year of life. Can’t wait for all the good things to come!!! What do you do on your ??
OMG! My littlest little sweetie is a big girl now and off to school!! I now have 3 kids in school (well I guess she is still a half day, but still!). A few hours a day when no one is in the house, asking me for something or screaming about something… I feel so free! This is a huge step and it is bittersweet (she is my 3rd and final). It signifies that she is growing up 😢, I am getting older 😱, and everyone has more independence 🥳. Moms, what is/was your favorite thing about having all your kiddos in school??
