While our event got rained out last Saturday, some of the student-athletes joined the shoebox project (packing boxes of necessities) also going on that day. The shoebox project has been going on for 19 years at Emory, and helps local children and youth in foster care.
Cross country had a huge day at nationals yesterday! The men’s team finished fifth overall (highest finish in school history). Oliver Campbell (8th) and Virat Vishwanadhula (11th) both set personal records AND were named All-Americans. For the women, Madeleine Lepley finished 20th. Congratulations to everyone!

The men’s team is currently ranked fifth nationally after winning the regional championship last month. The men’s team’s best finish nationally is 10th, achieved in 2017 and 2018.

The men's basketball team kicks off the 2023-24 season at 7 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 1 at Williams Gym.
The Eagles returned six players from last year's squad and welcomed four incoming first-year players. Emory Oxford has named sophomores Anthony Vargas (Woodland Park, New Jersey) as team captain and Andrew Anton (Jacksonville, Florida) as co-captain.
Sophomores Zuri Greene (Carrolton, Georgia) and Ryan Kim (Jericho, New York) were honored for preseason all-region.

The Center for Healthful Living (CHL) has recognized sophomore Ian Klenk of the men's soccer team as the October Student-Athlete of the Month. This award recognizes a student athlete's commitment to the CHL's motto: Educate the Mind and Exercise the Body.
Klenk is a two-year member of the soccer team. A native of Niskayuna, New York, Klenk plays defense and is a co-captain for the team. Last year, Klenk won two all-tournament/region awards for his success on the soccer field.
He plans on majoring in business.
Outside of the soccer field, Klenk excels in the classroom. Last year, he was named to the NJCAA All-Academic Second Team. Klenk is also heavily involved in music at Oxford. He is on the executive board for Music for Change and arranges music for Oxapella.
Prior to Emory Oxford, Klenk did volunteer work with his church in high school, along with volunteering at the local food bank.

Congratulations to our cross country teams for a successful trip to regionals! The men’s team took first place and had three runners in the top five. Virat Vishwanadhula was named Runner of the Year after his first place finish. Tony O’Kelley was named Coach of the Year. Madeleine Lepley came in second place overall for the women. Great job, everyone!

The team is gearing up for their official season, which now takes place in the spring.

At the University of Alabama-Huntsville Invitational, both Madeleine Lepley and Virat Vishwanadhula ran their best for this season. Oliver Campbell, Timothy Park, Joseph Woloszyn, and Fletcher Martin also competed for the men’s team in a field of over 400 runners.
