Life these days... I have a choice between a workout and a shower before 8pm. Lately a workout has been winning because that is this mamas therapy. I feel so much better when I do something for me!
Oh, and don’t get me started on the pile of laundry that needs to be folded. At least it’s clean 😜
I love a good salad for lunch and a chopped salad is easy to eat with one hand!
This mix is a bag salad and I added my own add ins. Cumcumber, red onion, dried cranberries, walnuts and feta cheese. Add your own clean dressing and always remember to look at the nutrition facts; the main thing I look for is the added sugar, it shouldn’t have any. I paired this with some leftover protein and BOOM - you have a easy and delicious lunch!
A workout isn’t meant to be a punishment for what you eat but instead it’s suppose to give you strength, energy, and the time to focus on YOU!
Everyone is different but for me, i workout because of my daughters! I’m a happier, more patient mother! Not everyday is easy and I will be honest it can be a challenge to eat my workout done but I find the time to do it because it makes me a better ME!!
Now it’s time to get back to the hurricane prep!!
Nap time hustle in full swing.
Workout ✅
Tidy up the house ✅
Order groceries ✅
What does your nap time hustle look like?
Love that my workouts include these little feet watching me! 😍 it’s so funny what a 2 year understands and starts to mimic your actions, good and bad 😳
I love that i can teach her what it means to be healthy but still enjoy a cookie once in a while 😜🙌🏻
Workout is done for the day and we are picking up our groceries (Walmart pickup for the win 🎉) to finish our meal prep for the week! Do you order your groceries too?
Last night was rough! A thunder storm kept me up all night, a toddler coming into my bed, a baby waking up 2 times (when she has been sleeping through the night), and a dog that is terrified of storms. Give me all the coffee! ☕️☕️
Some days/nights don’t go as planned and as soon as Ava sleeps for more than 10 minutes I’m going to get my workout crossed off my list! 💪🏻
Almost 41 week pregnant vs 11 weeks postpartum! There is one major difference between these two photos but one thing you don’t see is the inner strength and confidence I feel this time around in my postpartum journey.
For the last 10 months I counted on at home workouts and simple nutrition to keep me healthy and boy I’m glad I did! Everything about this postpartum journey has been so different than my first. From my recovery to feeling like my old self so much sooner this time around. I know I’m where I am in my journey because of the work I put in while I was pregnant. I was consistent and ate mostly clean but enjoyed my pregnancy cravings when they came. I had a community of ladies i checked in with to keep me accountable each day.
Now I’m in week 4 of my new program and I’m feeling strong! I know it’s because I built that solid foundation over the last year. I can’t wait to see where I will be in 60 more days! Where will you be in 60 days?
Day 16 ✅
Today was a juggling act to get my workout done but I feel so much better now that I did it! I mean it’s normal to play stickers with your toddler while making faces at your baby and getting your workout done at the same time right?! 😂
Day 15 ✅
I got my workout done this morning during Ava’s nap! I had one girl with me but she decided she wanted to join in for a few moves! I am loving his program so far and I have lost 2.75 inches in the last 2 weeks!
I am not going to lie and making time for 40-60 minute workouts has been a challenge but I am making it a non-negotiable. I feel better when I’m done and each day I know I’m getting stronger!
I have a group of ladies joining for extra accountability and I swear that is the extra push I need. If you are looking for that extra motivation, join us!!
I’m about to get really REAL with you all for a minute. This photo was taken by my husband when we were on vacation a few weeks ago, I was almost 6 weeks postpartum. The week before I was so worried about finding a swimsuit that I would feel comfortable in on the beach just weeks after having a baby. How was that my biggest concern!? 😳
When I saw this photo I immediately started picking it apart, “my legs, my hips, my stomach, my tan, etc.” Why do we do this to ourselves?
Mamas, I’m here to say, build yourselves up, you had a baby, you did something incredible and and we need to learn to love our bodies in every stage. Get in that suit, get on the beach and enjoy yourselves! I had a blast that day and made memories that will last forever with my family, that is what matters! 💕
In case you need a easy meal idea, try these green chili pork. I made these the other day in the crock pot and it made a simple dinner and great leftovers for meal prep! I paired it with riced califlower and topped it with some cilantro 🙌🏻 so good!!
The recipe is in the comments!
Sometimes it takes 2 attempts and your husband coming home in order to get your workout done 🤷🏼♀️
Real life is toddler meltdowns, dirty diapers, snacks to be made, and a whole lot of interruptions but I still made time for me. Take care of you mamas, you are just as important! ❤️
A princess made an appearance in my workout today! Mamas, sometimes you just have to make it work any way you can with your kiddos just to get “you” time!
We had an awesome time this morning at the Children’s Museum and got home late but I am only on day 5 of my workout program and I know if I skipped a day this early it could become a pattern and I don’t want that to happen. So I went ahead and pushed play with my little crew and feel so much better and also making healthier choices for dinner!
Meals don’t have to be pretty to be good and good for you! I’m slowly getting use to this meal plan and the timed nutrition but so far my only challenge is not eating all the toddler snacks 😳😂
Day 1 of the new program I was dying to try when I was pregnant! I am excited to start this as my first program postpartum. I have a small group of ladies that are joining me for accountability over the next couple of months! If you need that extra motivation message me and I will love to be your accountable partner ✌🏼
First workout done today after being on vacation and enjoying way to much food! This is how I see it, I indulged in food I don’t normally eat everyday, I didn’t workout everyday like I wanted to but I gained family memories that will last forever! ❤️
Today is day one of getting back on track and that doesn’t mean I’m just going to focus on working out again. It also means it’s time to focus on my nutrition so today I kept it lean, clean, and green! Water first and veggies most!! 🙌🏻
Also, day 1 doesn’t have to be a Monday! If you have fallen off track too, get off your b***y and start tomorrow!! You got this girlfriend 💪🏻😘
Thursday Tip: on holidays and days that I tend to indulge I try to get up the next day and get my workout done first thing!! I feel better and it gets me back on track 🙌🏻
Also, nursing mamas, I need some good sports bras recommendations! My morning run was tough 😳😂
Going on day 3 of working out this week!! Made a goal for myself to do something for at least 30 minutes everyday this week 💪🏻
It’s not always easy but so worth it! I’m showing up everyday for my girls, my challengers and most importantly ME!!
I’m running a July challenge group opening up soon, so if you need that extra push before summer ends, message me and I can get you started with the programs that I did while pregnant and now while postpartum. Works for all stages of life 🙌🏻
Being a mom means things don’t go as plan and as much as you think you are in charge and the “boss”, NOPE! The little ones are the ones that are in charge 😂
As soon as I finished my pre workout both girls woke up from their short naps so i whipped up my superfoods for a quick snack and back to mommin’ I go. A workout will be coming later today as I promised myself I will workout 7 days this week!! Hold me to that friends 💪🏻
He is seriously my favorite trainer!!! I can’t wait for this 😍🙌🏻🎉💪🏻
Thankful for a hubby that likes to workout too!! He put together a garage gym while on baby leave so we can sneak off to our “gym” whenever we want!
Today he kept the girlies occupied so this mama could workout! Where are my weekend warriors at?! 💪🏻
I was officially cleared by my doctor today to start working out again!! 🎉🎉
So excited for this journey! The hardest part about any health/fitness journey is actually starting. So if you have been on the fence or have convinced yourself you will start Monday or next month, what are you waiting for?? Start NOW!! I promise you won’t regret it!! Also, message me and we can start our fitness journey together!!
Somehow we made it out of the house today for our first time without help! I got a workout, a shower (even shaved my legs 🎉), everyone fed and out the door! It felt good but what you don’t see is that my hair was wet when we left the house, a meltdown had from my toddler because I cut triangles and not squares on her sandwich, the toys and dishes left everywhere when we left, and a anxious mama trying to figure out how this outing will go 🙈
I wanted to let you all know that yes I post a lot of positive on this feed but I want to be real with you too! Life is crazy with two little girls and i know it will get easier but for now I am celebrating the little wins!
With Ava napping, I somehow managed a 30 minute workout with weights and cardio! I modified a little since I’m easing back into my workouts but it felt SO good!!! Taking the time for me now with 2 little ones takes a little more work and time management but it is so worth it!!
I’m hoping this energy carries me through the afternoon since Ava was up all night. This mama is tired 😴
The photo on the left is me on my due date, 40 weeks pregnant, mom to a wild toddler, tired, sore, always hungry. The photo on the right is me today, 2 weeks postpartum with a newborn that was up every 1.5 hours last night, I’m a whole new level of tired! 😴
One thing that is similar in both these photos is that I am learning to love my body at every stage, pregnancy, postpartum, or mombod. It is hard seeing your body change throughout pregnancy but seeing the little miracle every day as a reminder of what your body just did is truly amazing 🙌🏻
So here I am today celebrating all the loose skin, every dimple, every stretch mark, and all the imperfections because what we can do as woman is truly amazing!
The last few days I have been itching to workout but since I’m only I want to ease back into my workouts. So today I decided to start a 3 week yoga program to get my body moving. Today was day 1 and it felt so good!! Anyone else postpartum trying to get back on the fitness train?
When I started this Instagram I wanted something to keep myself accountable and to get motivation from others on a similar journey! I found that posting my postpartum journey the first time around made a huge difference and so I’m hoping this is the case this time as well!
Throughout my pregnancy I ate clean while still allowing myself to enjoy the occasional treat and worked out 5 days a week until the last week of my pregnancy. I truly believe having a community of ladies that held me accountable every day and drinking a superfood shake that gave me the nutrition I needed for baby and I helped me recover faster this time around!
My recovery has a breeze so far compared to my first pregnancy and I really believe it was because I was so active during pregnancy and did my best to eat well!! And honestly if I can do it so can you!! Pregnant or not - having the accountability has been everything 🙌🏻
If you are looking for that extra motivation to get going before summer let me know, I am about to start my postpartum journey and I would love that extra accountability.
Feeling extra grateful this morning, I spent my birthday with my little family of 3 (soon to be 4). One goal I have with the arrival of baby girl number 2 is to be more present and really live in the moment!
Less screen time and spending time scrolling on my phone. It’s all about quality time and not just about the quantity. Make the time memorable!!
Mom life can make this difficult and sometimes I feel like I may need a “mental break” but I am challenging myself to be better! Anyone else trying to do this daily?
Sometimes you treat yourself with a special treat that is 100% guilt free 🙌🏻🎉
I was having a major sweet tooth this afternoon so I experimented with a mug cake. This is what I did:
1/2 mashed banana
1 egg
1 scoop vegan protein powder
Splash of almond milk for consistency
Mix and spoon it into a mug that you can mircowave. I decided to add a scoop of peanut butter for a fun surprise. Microwave for 2 minutes and top with sprinkles because why not!!
It was the perfect treat for this pregnant mama that wants all the sweets right now!! Let me know if you give it a try 😊
Up early this morning to get my workout done before our busy day starts! Get up and get it done before you even realize what you are doing! 💪🏻
Harper is off to preschool today after being sick all week last week and this mama has a doctors appointment to check on baby girl, only 2 weeks to go!! 💕
Hope you all have a good Monday!! 🎉
