Congratulations to our November Students, Athletes, and Staff Member of the Month!

Today Jake competed in the Michigan High School Athletic Association State Meet at Michigan International Speedway. There were 27 teams and 252 athletes in the Division 2 race. Today, our goal for Jake was to have fun and PR. Jake went out there and gave it his 100%! In doing so, Jake finished 64th with a 2-second PR of 16:25.9. Great job to all the running bulldogs this season. Go Bulldogs!

Boys:

Today the boys competed in The Last Chance Meet at Uncle John's Cider Mill! Today’s race had 108 runners. The course was pretty flat, which makes for a fast course. The team placed 4th out of 10 teams. Tyson Evans placed 1st, giving him a lifetime personal record of 17:05.4. Ellis Yokom placed 3rd giving him a season personal record of 17:487.0. Conner Morrison placed 61st giving him a 2-minute lifetime personal record of 20”41.6. The next race is Saturday, November 4th at Michigan International Speedway, where Jacob Montgomery will compete.

Girls:
Today the girls competed in their last meet called The Last Chance Meet at Uncle John's Cider Mill! Today’s race had 74 runners. Today all 4 girls raced! Just like the boys, The course was pretty flat, which makes for a fast course. Setting the pace was Carliegh Thompson. Carliegh placed 20th, giving her a lifetime personal record of 22:32.6 Emma Lang placed 58th; with a time of 27:34.4. Enma Rio placed 64th; with a lifetime personal record of 29:27.8. Angie Reyes placed 71st; with a lifetime personal record of 32:09.6. The girls had a great season. Good Job Bulldogs!

Congratulations to Jacob Montgomery on taking 13th at The Regional Meet today. Jacob not only did very well but also was able to secure a spot to compete at The State Meet next Saturday at MIS!

Today the girls competed in The Regional Meet at South Christian High School! Today’s race had 101 athletes. Today all 4 girls raced! Just like the boys, the girls had a very wet and muddy course. Setting the pace was Carliegh Thompson. Carliegh placed 56th with a time of 22:54.93. Emma Lang placing 85th; while shaving 30 seconds off of her previous time, giving her a new PR time of 26:39.04. Enma Rio placed 97th with a time of 31:42.28. Angie Reyes placed 99th; while shaving 36 seconds off of her PR with a time, giveing her a new PR of 32:40.9. Next meet is Thursday November 2nd, 2023 at Uncle Johns Cider Mill for Last Chance Meet!

Today the boys competed in The Regional Meet at South Christian High School! Today’s race had 107 athletes. The course was wet and muddy! The team placed 8th out of 16th teams. Jacob Montgomery took 13th with a time of 16:59.21, earning himself a spot to compete at The State Meet. Tyson Evans placed 32nd, with a time of 17:49.9. Ellis Yokom placed 43rd with a time of 18:21.53. Jaxxon Thelen placed 56th with a time of 18:47.20. Dalles Baliff placed 75th; while shaving off 37 second off of his Season PR; with a time of 19:17.5. Alex Bushee placed 82nd with a time of 19:51.29 . Lincoln Denis placed 90th with a time 20:23.55.

Two of our boys were able to run The Co-Ed PROM Meet at South Christian High School. This race had 57 male athletes. The course was muddy and wet. Conner Morrison place 42nd with a time of 23:09.39. And Gabe Holman placed 44th running a time of 23:28.34. Next meet is Thursday November 2nd, 2023 at Uncle Johns Cider Mill for Last Chance Meet!

Go vote our very own Jacob Montgomery! He is an outstanding athlete on and off of the course. Last week Jake became the CAAC-White Champion individually, while also helping his team take 2nd overall.

Boys:

Today the boys competed in their last league meet of the season! Today’s race had 75 athletes. The course was wet and muddy! The team placed 1st at the meet with a score of 61 and 2nd in the league overall. We took home 3 All-League Medals. Jacob Montgomery won the race and came away with being THE CONFERENCE CHAMP. Tyson Evans placed 3rd in the meet and 5th in the league. Ellis Yokom placed 12th in the meet and 11th in the league. Jaxxon Thelen placed 20th and Alex Bushee placed 25th in the meet. Dalles Baliff placed 35th and Lincoln Denis placed 44th in the meet today.

Girls:
Today the girls competed in their last league meet of the season! Today’s race had 68 athletes. Today all 4 girls raced! Just like the boys, the girls had a very wet and muddy course. Setting the pace was Carliegh Thompson. Carliegh placed 14th overall, giving her a 15th place All-League spot. Emma Lang placing 50th and Enma Rio placed 66th in today’s meet. Angie Reyes placing 67th, giving her another season best with a time of 34:04.9! Next meet is Saturday October 28th, at South Christian High School for Regionals!

Today the boys competed at The Greater Lansing Invite! Today race there was 230 athletes. Today’s course was wet and muddy! Jacob Montgomery medaled, placing 16th with a time of 17:05.2 . Tyson Evans placed 64th. Ellis Yokom placed 91st. Jaxxon Thelen placed 120th and Alex Bushee placed 125th . Dalles Baliff placed 146tg, giving him a season best time of 19:54.3 Lincoln Denis placed 162nd. Next meet is Thursday October 19th, at St. Francis Retreat; competing in our last Jamboree where we will host our Senior Night after the race!

Girls:
Today the girls competed at The Greater Lansing Invite. Today’s race had 219 athletes. Today we only had 3 girls race! Just like the boys, the girls had a very wet and muddy course. Bring in our girls was Emma Lang placing 194th, with a time of 27:20. Emma Rio placed 206, giving her a personal best time of 31:22.1. Bring up the end was Angie Reyes placing 210, giving her a season best with a time of 34:18.5! Next meet is Thursday October 19th, at St. Francis Retreat; competing in our last Jamboree where we will host our Senior Night after the race!

Ionia Homecoming Parade! We also had some in band and one on the sophomore float! But they are not pictured!

Team results have been posted…..drum rolll………..Ionia walks away with 2nd place, bumping them 2 pots higher than the first jamboree. Last Jamboree is October 19th at St Francis Park. We will also be honoring our 5 senior boys and our exchange student as well. Girls race at 5 and boys race at 5:40!

Boys:

Today the boys competed at our 2nd Jamboree of the season! Today race there was 74 athletes. Jacob Montgomery placed 2nd. Tyson Evans jumped 3 spots in today’s race, finishing in 6th place. Ellis Yokom jumped 3 spots as well, finishing in 11th place. Alex Bushee jumps 3 spots, with a finishing place of 33rd. Next meet is Saturday at The Greater Lansing Invite.

Girls:
Today the girls competed at our 2nd Jamboree of the season. Today race had only 66 athletes. Today we all the girls raced! Bring in our girls was Carleigh Thompson with a finishing place of 11th , giving her 12 spots higher then the first jamboree and giving her points on the bored. Emma Lang 46 putting her also on the points bored. Emma Rio placed 57th. Bring up the end was Angie Reyes placing 62nd! Next meet is Saturday at The Greater Lansing Invite!

Boys:

Today the boys competed at The Shepherd BlueJay Invite! Today race there were over 100+ athletes. In our race, The boys finished 11th place out of 16 teams. Jacob Montgomery placed 5th out of 116 runner giving him a personal record of 16:27.5 Also running a personal record was Ellis Yokom with a time of 18:03.3. Next meet is next Tuesday at Burchfield Park.

Girls:
Today the girls ran competed at The Shepherd BlueJay Invite. Today race there were over 110+ athletes. Today we only had two girls race. Bring in our girls was Carleigh Thompson with a finishing place of 89th with a time of 24:06.0! Angie Reyes finishing with a time of 34:48.9. Next meet is Tuesday at Burchfield Park!

Congratulations to the 2023 Ionia High School homecoming court. Senior King and Queen voting will happen during homecoming week with the winners announced at halftime of the football game.
