All of us at the Rubin Center join the family of Heidi Bennett in deeply mourning her passing on July 29. Heidi was a long-time, dedicated member of our clinical staff in our Clifton Park Center. Heidi gave so much to so many patients; she was a very kind person and was supportive of her coworkers. We will miss her very much. We will honor her life with a donation to the Dove Memorial Scholarship Fund set up in her daughter's memory. Our deepest sympathies to her family and many friends.

If you plan to attend, please register with Shari Meola at [email protected] or at (518) 831-6700 by May 22.
Just to clarify what was said in a recent news article, the acquisition of Rubin by DCI was never over a matter of losing jobs. It was a positive step by the Rubin board of directors to ensure stability and secure our quality delivery system for the future. Rubin is very solvent and never contemplated cutting staff.
Hey, friends, help us support 8-year-old Kaitlyn, who is walking in the Northeast Kidney Foundation's 5k fundraiser on June 8 for her Grandma, Kathleen Bevan. Kathleen has been a patient in our Troy center for 5+ years. If you want to support Kaitlyn with a donation, let us and we'll tell you how.

Scenes from the Rubin Holiday Party.
This evening the Rubin management team is hosting a Staff Appreciation Dinner at Panza’s Restaurant on Saratoga Lake.
With festive décor, excellent food by Panza’s, and door prizes -- as well as some karaoke by talented staff -- we plan on enjoying an evening of thanking staff members for making a big difference in patients’ lives every day. The best care is given by dedicated, motivated people, and our Rubin staff is one of the best examples of that!
Even the witches and warlocks (the Rubin Dialysis Centers management team) got into the costume craze for Halloween!
WE LOVE Halloween!! In fact, we stretch our Halloween celebration out over two days so that we can involve all of our patients and all of our staff. We share cider and cider donuts. We dress up and we have some fantastic pumpkin artists!
Each Rubin center picks a theme and then they decorate and dress up in the themes. This year Troy went with a “wild west” theme, Clifton Park was “old fashioned Halloween” and Saratoga chose – “your favorite tv/ movie characters.”
Check out the next few posts/photo albums and let us know your favorites.
We extend our sincere thanks to all our technicians – whether in direct Patient Care, BioMed, or Clinical Support – you all make the end result of providing quality patient care possible! Thanks for being a a part of our team! Happy Nephrology Technician Week!
More congratulations are in order, this time to Dr. Christopher Hoy (left), who recently received an award from Home Dialyzors United, given to members of the renal community for outstanding service, achievement and innovation. Congratulations to patient Jim Davenport who raised $2,675 for the Northeast Kidney Foundation as part of the recent Kidney Walk. That's more than anyone on the Rubin team. A plaque commemorating his achievement is up at the Clifton Park center. Thanks, Jim!
The Rubin Center staff is participating in the "Walk to Wellness Challenge" sponsored by CDPHP. We've pledged to walk in at least 10-minute increments and log our weekly minutes. The names of staff members who submit their weekly minutes walked will have their names entered into a drawing for gift certificates and movie tickets. We're walking to keep healthy. How about you?
The staff in Saratoga Springs got in the spirit and helped raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation too.
The Troy Center staff participated in "denim day" in support of the Susan G. Komen Foundation's fight against breast cancer.
