Message from It’s that time of year again! It’s our 3rd Annual Toy Drive for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and we want to beat last years goal of $5300. For every $10 item you buy in-store and donate to the drive we will match it with equal value. The drive starts now so put a smile on a kids face this Christmas and donate!
We will deliver to the hospital via live feed on Christmas Day.

November is designated as National Native American Heritage Month. This observance commemorates the history, heritage, and culture of Native Americans and Alaskan Natives. It is during this month we acknowledge the vast achievements of America’s original
indigenous people.

Here’s how to get involved!
Join the tradition! Celebrate the holiday season with your fellow business owners and Portland neighbors. This year’s annual Hawthorne Holiday Celebration and tree-lighting event takes place Sunday, November 24th.
Showcase your business
Show your spirit by dressing your storefront with snowflakes and lights.
Business participants will be listed on the Hawthorne Holiday Celebration map. All decorated storefronts will automictically be entered in the window decorating context. The winner receives a custom Hawthorne-themed gift basket and 1-year membership to Hawthorne BIvd Business Association.
Sip-n-shop
Opt-in to treat your guests to a sip-n-shop experience. Think about pairing with local beverage vendors (beer, wine, kombucha, drinking chocolate, bubbles, cider, etc) and delight your customers!
Donate to the gift basket
Contribute to the Winner’s Gift Basket! The basket will be awarded to the winner of the window decorating contest.

Come join us for the Happy Hawthorne Hour at the Backstage at the Bagdad (no host) on Thursday, November 7th. Have fun with your neighbors and friends from the businesses that make Hawthorne great. We will be discussing the updates on the Pilot Plaza with a 30 min Q and A period. Everyone is invited! Let’s get to know each other and make our wonderful neighborhood closer!
