Well this is embarrassing - I have nothing really new to tell y’all. Other than I got some more Li Ming photos back from last year and they’re pretty amazing 💕✨
For my first armour build half of it needs to be rebuilt but it was a fun time regardless to make it!

Yesterday Luke and I got married in and these are some of the most wholesome and cursed images from the event and I love ever single one of them. ✨

We had to give back the VR set that sent us a couple of weeks back. 😭
VR was such a unique experience and honestly until you try it there isnt really words to explain how much it’s improved in the last 10 years. You can catch my Vods on of Luke and I’d play through of Half-Life: Alyx 💕

First pieces of my Choral Bard set is done 🙌🙌
Details wise - all materials were from my fabric stash. The main bodice is linen, appliqué in velvet, double georgette for one part of the sleeves and the same cotton/lurex fabric I used for my Arwen for the other part. Only other components were the embroidery floss - which was my only major expense on this piece costing me a total of $12. Most of this was used on the bottom edge to create the tassels and edging which was the second most tedious part after the stem stitching appliqué I did. I was very inspired by tassels/edging as I thought it was a beautifully simple way to add more dimension into that part of the cosplay. I hope you don’t mind that I used this on my bard 💕
Overall the embroidery took me just shy of 30 hours (1 full run through of LoTR extended + most of Outlander season 4). Honestly felt nice to take a break from FFXIV for 2 days to embroider most of it.
Will post more photos shortly - gonna finish the pants, then work on the neck piece and then the hat! Hopefully I have enough supplies.

I can’t believe we are already into 2020 - 2019 was a big year for me; I had some major career moves, house moves and decided to step back into cosplay making.
2019 was the year I finally finished costumes I wanted to make from years ago - specifically Li Ming and Arwen. I dig deep into my fabric stash, items I’d be collecting and tutorials that’s if saved. I would like to thank the competition for helping in pushing me to finish Arwen’s costume. I can’t wait to rewear it in the future.
2020 is going to be a big adventure again - I’m getting married in September so a lot of my energy has been redirected to that. Currently my major project of the year is looking to be the Bard Choral set from FFXIV however I’m not committing to much at the moment 💕
My first and foremost task for the new year is making pouches, hanging bags and wraps for alongside the crew ✨

I only wore Li Ming for a couple of hours yesterday as a test run as I really want to make/reposition some pieces. She was so much fun and probably one of my favourite things I’ve ever made because I’d been wanting to make her for years 😭😭

Full body shot of Arwen for competition. The Silk Velvet catches the light so nicely. The hardest thing about this costume was getting screen accurate coloured fabric. Colour grading in filmmaking makes it very difficult to could match but I think I did well. ❤️
