HAND MADE in Melbourne, Clothing for Busy Mum's and Women. Designed to take you to almost any occas
I brought this fabric nearly 2 months ago. It was my lets get back into sewing purchase.
This one nearly got the better of me and ended up in the I'll fix it later pile. I'm glad that I fixed my mistake by cutting a new facing. It definitely wouldn't pass a quality test π but will be light and airy for spring/summer.
this time with puff sleeves.
It's been a long time between sewing. Not sure why it has taken me so long to get back to it after having spinal surgery back in January.
There was, I suspect an anxiety as I have another dodgy disc that will need management to avoid future surgery.
Sewing needs to be slow and steady now with breaks in between. No longer a side hustle, perhaps it's my new mindfulness exercise?
New work top - with sleeves left floaty.
Fabric - From the stash beautiful soft cotton that I purchased in Thailand, which feels like a life time ago.
Buttons - Purchased from a senior lady at a local market who told me that she worked in a button factory and the owner let her keep all the buttons she swept off the floor at the end of the day.
200+ days of lockdowns in Melbourne and there are only so many jigsaw puzzles you can do! We have found some crafty gems at - Paint by numbers for myself and also for my 10yr old (who hates all things craft) and Punch Needle Kit.
Gosh I miss my sewing machine. Loved popping on my hand made top tonight.
It has pockets, flowy and is super comfortable. Perfect summer dress - that is layered because you know Melbourne weather π
Christmas dress made π πDrop waist with Breeze Top - I love how this covers my arms and covers my COVID Kgs. Of course it has pockets βΊοΈ Just need to tan the legs and all will be ok π€£
Made myself a new dress - Breeze Top with tiered skirt. It has pockets, flowy and cost me $40 to make instead of a Mister Zimi's dress that would have cost me $179 - Winning π
1st day of Summer π
Welcome to the jungle. These are two of my favourite artworks, the boy bird was brought on my Bestie's Hens night in Thailand. The girl bird the artist did over night and we picked up just before we jumped on the boat for Railay beach.
My favourite ever drunk purchase and I have made a few, particularly in lockdown π
What have you purchased when slightly "happy"?
Love the texture of the denim on this jungle shoulder splice tee.
Black and White π Print Breeze Top
This is my bestest longest friend, she is a wife, mum, scientist and Head of Research for Childhood Dementia Initiative and Sanfilippo Children's Foundation. She inspires me everyday.
She has helped me through dark dark times (mental illness is a bitch) and I not sure I would be here without her being in my life particularly in my late teens and early 20's. She knows me inside and out, pulls me up when I need it and loves me for who I am.
Love this photo she shared with me wearing her Birthday , fabric mask I made her and with Ella in a Bandanna that my 9 year old son made to raise funds for .
Who inspires you to be a better you?
Get in my wardrobe! Opps you are already are. I found a fabric fault in this fabric and rather than waste that section I have decide to live with it and make myself a Breeze top. I am loving this fabric π
Do you have a brand that you have followed since the very beginning?
This gorgeous woman was one of the first to support me when I first launched my Ladies Label 4 years ago.
I love my label and everything it represents - comfort, uniqueness and a label for all types of body shapes and women who are living their life on their terms.
Although .h.m_est2016 isn't my main focus anymore it is still an important part of me and my creative side. I am always grateful and touched when I am asked to make something for someone whether they have been with me since the beginning or just found meπ
Can't wait to make this beautiful woman more
Moonbright Wine π·Linen π
Pretty Moonbright Wine Linen in Breeze Top
Another beautiful Breeze top made for another special friend. This one is made in a Linen fabric. I am π― making myself one as it will be perfect for work and for sitting under the gumtree in Summer with a group of good friends β€οΈ
Always tricky to take photos of Breeze Tops made from Cotton. They aren't as flowy and light as Rayon. This one is a cotton/linen and will soften up some more with washing. It's a special gift for a very special friend π
Pink isn't usually my thing but this Breeze Top makes me re-think that β€οΈ
Excited that we are coming into Spring here in Australia π. This year it will different and that's ok, as if Autumn and Winter has shown us anything it is that we are resilient. We make the most of what we have, we face time our love ones, have zoom sewing days, do lots of baking and long hour walks. Our family pets love the extra time we have for them π π
We don't disconnect and in some cases we have reconnected with friends that busy lives got in the way of. For these small things we are happy and grateful β€οΈ

Sewing for COVID comfort π
I'm feeling the need to make something with Linen. Imagine how beautiful it would be once it had softened, I've been researching the best and quickest way π
Spring's coming and I think we'll be doing matchy matchy in Melbourne π· But we will stay safe and smile with our eyes π
I'm in the middle of my last run of 3D Face Masks before I move onto some Spring sewing π. Let me know if you would like the comfortable mask and I will add to the line π
"Very comfortable. Easier to talk in. Love both of mine. I can match them to my outfits!! β€οΈ"
"The mask style is soo comfortable!!"
"Thank you, it's perfect fit and colour"
Ok, so here's the thing we may look like ducks with our 3D masks on but they are the favourite and hands down winner for comfortable breathing, talk ability (it's a thing π) and minimal glasses fogging. Love these family collections finished today.
Kids, Ladies and Mens - I went walking and talking in this design and it was so comfortable and my sunnies didn't fog π
Love this collection for my Sister in Laws Bestie. How cute is the tiny one with Koi fish? Did you know in Singapore it is compulsory for all children over the age of two to wear face masks? I'm glad that's not the case her, but I made a super soft two layer just incase Little Miss wants to be like Mum and Dad π
I think I've become the crazy mask lady. I suffer from anxiety and a little bit of claustrophobia at times. I am fortunate that at work I wear a face shield however have been struggling with other masks I've tried. Research has lead me to the 3D mask and I LOVE it, no glasses fogging up, it sits off my mouth and had lots of talk room - very important π. I have chosen to put ties in this instead of elastic as I can tie it around my ears or behind my head of I'm wearing for longer periods. I think the 3D type will be alot cooler in spring too - this design is a winner for me π
Thank you !! We have raised $1002.50 for Sanfillipo Children's Foundation for Childhood Dementia, this went directly to them π in exchange for fabric face masks. If you would like more information on this Charity please see an article from ABC Online this weekend - https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-07-25/parents-of-kids-with-rare-genetic-disorder-sanfilippo-syndrome/12402754
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT - NO LONGER TAKING ORDERS A handful of 3 layer fabric nose wire masks I have made today and my beautiful friend getting on board to help me out. For those that have been asking me I am more than happy and would love to make you a mask. We are very fortunate that COVID hasn't effected us financially and I ask that if you are in the position to, that you donate $25 for 2 or 1 for $15 to Sanfilippo Children's Foundation for Childhood Dementia
Ok, hands up if you have a sewing machine sitting collecting dust? Was it your Nan's and you've always meant to learn to sew? Lockdown V2 is your chance - here's a link to start making fabric face masks for those times you can't social distance - https://www.craftpassion.com/face-mask-sewing-pattern/.
I forgot to show you this dress on. Love this style π
Teaming - My favourite Hand Made skirt with my sweatshirt. Comfy Mumma π»
Trip to the dentist for my Lion Tank. Such a great layering piece.
Remember my coat, well dodgy selfie time - I love it and when I told Husbeast how much I LOVE it "It's really nice, where did you get it from?" Me "I made it" Him "Even better" ππ
I made myself another dress with half sleeves and pockets. Oh and I am about to cut out a new dress pattern to try. Working hard on my hand made wardrobe.
This was one of my favourite fabrics from approx 5 years ago. I loved this print on Hurricane and pulled the little bit I had left and made myself a tank top π¦
Beautiful Melbourne autumn day today filled with love. Went for a beach walk with my 3 beautiful besties. Gave two of them their Breeze Tops and left my 9 year old for his first play date. My beautiful friend dropped him home looking Ah-mazing in her new top ππ
Not the fabric that I had planned to use and I needed to style it to see if I liked it - dodgy selfie time ππ I remembered that I cut this out close on 3 years ago - Navy velvet scuba knit, so thick and warm and I think I like it π
So complete BLONDE moment yesterday - I made myself pants however for some crazy reason I somehow made two left legs π. While I wait patiently for more fabric which I can thankfully find for a small fortune in Australia this is the next thing on my make for myself list - in a different fabric. Pattern by my Gorgeous friend Apple+Fig Design
Two of three and the third is the same. I have plans to make myself a dress in this fabric π
