New song, just for fun
New song (for me) on my 20+ year old piano, which has definitely seen better days. 😕 You can hear the pedal creaking, though luckily the sound board wasn’t rattling or buzzing very badly today. I have to admit it’s time for a new piano.

As we wrap up 2022, we tend to think about the fresh start of the new year. Maybe we even set resolutions to "improve" ourselves. What if we think about accepting ourselves as we already are instead? Here are a few thoughts on how we might focus on accepting ourselves, and others, by inviting in a little more grace. Happy New Year! 💜

Words Have Power
A message for my fellow writers:
You have a lot of strong feelings. How do you channel those feelings into actions? Writers often focus their feelings through words, and words have power.
The direct options, writing letters and online posts, are one way you can use your words. You can also examine the messages in all of your writing, including fiction.
In politics, an Overton window describes the range of ideas a society is willing to discuss and accept. Writing can shift that window. For example, positive stories about gay couples in books and TV shows helped society become more comfortable with the idea of gay marriage.
What messages are in the stories you tell? Are you aware of the ideas you are adding to our society? Words have power. Use them with care.
