For you Joan...
Remember when I sang "Chrystal Ship" in Prof. Petersens Acting 101? It was the first time you ever spoke to me. You asked if it was a Doors song. I looked at you and I was halfway in before I even knew I had started...

In memory of Tony Scott...Ten years ago today.
Influencial idol of my youth. In my 20's I even lived north of Sunset one block east of The London Fog's location. Good times...Great photo.

Had the good fortune to work on two pictures with a bonafide favorite matinee idol of my childhood...Bruce Dern. If you would of predicted that back then, I would of laughed my head off!
Cherished autographed still of Barry Newman in "Vanishing Point." That movie, along with "Easy Rider" and "Clockwork Orange" more or less convinced me at 12 years old, that making movies was the coolest job on the planet...and I was crashing that party.
Leave it to tomorrow to unpack my case, honey dis-connect the phone! We're gonna binge The Beatles.💯
For Carol........with eternal love, Tony
“…It was raining hard in 'Frisco
I needed one more fare to make my night
A lady up ahead waved to flag me down
She got in at the light
Oh, where you going to, my lady blue
It's a shame you ruined your gown in the rain
She just looked out the window
She said, "16 Parkside Lane"
Something about her was familiar
I could swear I'd seen her face before
But she said, "I'm sure you're mistaken"
And she didn't say anything more
It took a while, but she looked in the mirror
And she glanced at the license for my name
A smile seemed to come to her slowly
It was a sad smile, just the same
And she said, "How are you, Harry?"
I said, "How are you, Sue?
Through the too many miles and the too little smiles
I still remember you"
It was somewhere in a fairy tale
I used to take her home in my car
We learned about love in the back of the Dodge
The lesson hadn't gone too far
You see she was gonna be an actress
And I was gonna learn to fly
She took off to find the footlights
And I took off to find the sky
Oh, I've got something inside me
To drive a princess blind
There's a wild man, wizard
He's hiding in me, illuminating my mind
Oh, I've got something inside me
Not what my life's about
'Cause I've been letting my outside tide me
Over 'til my time runs out…
…There was not much more for us to talk about
Whatever we had once was gone
So I turned my cab into the driveway
Past the gate and the fine trimmed lawns
And she said, "We must get together"
But I knew it'd never be arranged
And she handed me $20 for a $2-50 fare
She said, "Harry, keep the change"
Well, another man might have been angry
And another man might have been hurt
But another man never would have let her go
I stashed the bill in my shirt
And she walked away in silence
It's strange how you never know
But we'd both gotten what we'd asked for
Such a long, long time ago
You see she was gonna be an actress
And I was gonna learn to fly
She took off to find the footlights
And I took off for the sky
And here, she's acting happy
Inside her handsome home
And me, I'm flying in my taxi
Taking tips and getting stoned
I go flying so high, when I'm stoned…
Taxi

From Roger’s statement on John Entwistle's passing 19 years ago today.
"I just hope that God has got his earplugs ready.
Whatever happens, he'll have to reinvent thunder as it simply won't be loud enough anymore!"

Read this morning about the passing of Joel Schumacher.
Had the pleasure of editing for him on the film BAD COMPANY.
Classy man. A full-blooded New Yorker and world class raconteur. Always a fun cutting room. 9/11 happened during post production. I remember Joel learning a friend of his was on one of the planes that crashed into the World Trade Center. In a cruel sense of timing, our story dealt with terrorist planting a nuclear bomb in N.Y.C. We had to go back to N.Y.C. for a day of re-shoots within weeks of the attacks. The show must go on. Joel's leadership got everyone through it.
Rest in Peace, Joel.
Wonderful news was published today on the improving medical condition of Mr. Nick Cordero. His wife needs a husband, and his child needs a father. Such a powerful story unfolding.
