"A bedrock of the Scottish theatre industry" The Guardian
One of the most vibrant sectors of our economy is in real danger of sinking without trace. We need a nuanced imaginitive intervention from Government to inject resources into our theatres and creative spaces to curate a wide range of online drama to keep workers working and audiences engaged . Creativity withers and dies if it is not going forward. Our Creative Arts sector is one of Scotland’s most priceless assets and will be very difficult if not impossible to start up again if it is allowed to fall by the wayside .
Without immediate support from the Government, the entire live events industry is at risk of collapse.
From the grassroots up, we need Government support.
We stand in solidarity with the venue staff, freelancers, producers and technicians who work so hard to make our events happen.
Let's keep raising our voice for the live events industry!
Thank you for being part of the Chic Murray experience . Writer/Director Stuart Hepburn is still working on bringing a new production to the boards in 2021, but for obvious reasons , has to wait and see how things develop with regard to -19 . In the meantime , his latest online project “Miraculous” premieres tomorrow night on the Ayr Gaiety Lockdown Channel. Below are some reflections on the process.
