We are excited to have Katya Echazarreta (aka Kat Voltage) coming to Kern County! Katya will be speaking to students, staff and community members at an event being held at the Robert F. Kennedy Auditorium. The goal is to empower our students, especially those from rural communities to dream big by exposing them to learn about opportunities in STEM and the wide array of careers available in that field. Space is limited, RSVP from the invitation below and join us to learn more about Kat and her journey.
In June 2022 she became the first Mexican-born woman and youngest woman to ever fly in space! Since returning from her voyage, she has been public speaking across the US and Mexico while building her social media platforms. Kat is an engineer, a former community college student, and a part of MESA at San Diego Community College.
