Lots of work is still needed and collaboration within a unified community is the only way.

❤️‍🩹 Late last year, my cherished friend Tré was diagnosed with stage three cancer. He is also the founder of , a nonprofit dedicated to harnessing the power of art to save our seas. I’ve had the honor of serving as a Board Member and witnessed the powerful work he and his wife have tirelessly done for people + the planet. The world needs more ocean warriors like Tre' and Akira 🌊💙

Today is - Here’s Tre's message I’d like to share in hopes that you will join me in supporting his fight:

As a private person, it’s been a silent battle, but a close friend recently encouraged me to believe in the strength of my ocean community. So it is with humility on this that I reach out for support.

Hey Earthlings 👋🏽 and hello 2024! Took a digital detox for the sake of my mental health so allow me to reintroduce myself for new friends who decided to join the party. Most know me as a science communicator and ocean advocate with a degree in marine biology but ultimately, I’m simply a person with insatiable curiosity for the world around me. Born and raised in Miami, I’m ultra proud of of my Jamaican/Caribbean heritage 🇯🇲 I’m also a TV Host/presenter that has worked on a variety of STEM TV shows and docs including Ocean Invaders on 🪸 season 1 correspondent on hosted by 👩🏽‍🔬 Science the $ #!* Out of It on with cohost 🎥 and Nature Knows Best nationally syndicated on FOX 🌱 Most recently, I hosted Summits between 2020-2023 plus other past large scale event including USA Science & Engineering Festival and . 🌍 I’ve also had a blast hosting podcasts like GENIUS GENERATION from + and my favorite passion podcast 21st Century Mermaids 🧜🏽‍♀️ I’m an avid traveler, scuba diver and currently learning how to be a more proficient freediver. 2023 was an extra challenging year that forced me to go inward to reveal my core values and where the next chapter of my life will lead. After 15 years in the and entertainment industry, I know our global society will truly benefit from a broader spectrum of science storytellers amplifying the countless wonders of this resilient planet. Why? Because humans protect what they love and we only love what we understand.

Founded in 1992 by the legendary Jim Moran, it's recognized over 160 individuals for their positive impact. Over $700,000 has been donated to nonprofits on their behalf, and they've funded 40+ Florida high school seniors' scholarships to Florida State University.

August 11th is WORLD KRILL DAY!!Antarctic act as a giant conveyor belt, constantly moving carbon down from the water’s surface by eating carbon-capturing algae, then dropping carbon-filled p**p at the bottom of the ocean 🌊 Krill are an ESSENTIAL species in the . Right now krill and their predators are threatened by the krill fishery that is targeting this critical creature in order to grind them up and sell them as Omega 3 supplements. Keeping them safe, healthy, and IN THE OCEAN is critical. Every sea creature counts and plays an important role in the health of the ocean.
