The SVA officers along with the help of the team set up the 9/11 Memorial on the Poorman Commons Lawn this morning (in the rain). A flag placed to honor each American life that was lost that day, surrounded by the flags of the world representing how this event in history impacted us all. The memorial will be visible until Tuesday evening. We welcome you to walk by to see it and pay your respects.

Veterans’ Week kicks off today. All Veterans and Active Duty Military get into today’s football game for FREE. We will be recognizing some local Veterans throughout the game. RED shirts will be available for purchase too. Tip-off at 1pm. Hope to see you there!

Our RED shirt fundraiser is under way. We will have them available throughout our Veterans Week on LHU’s campus.

Ave 209 Coffee House also has some for sale too. Stop by for some coffee and grab a shirt. They are $10 each.

Today is the LAST DAY of our Thank a Veteran event on campus. Stop by before 4 pm today to make a card for a Veteran.

NATIONAL DAY OF THE DEPLOYED. October 26 is annually designated as National Day of the Deployed. The day honors all of the brave men and woman who have been deployed, are sacrificing, or have sacrificed their lives to defend our country.

SVA is participating in the homecoming parade next Thursday. The theme is people, places, things and we have decided to showcase where our Military members have been deployed/served.

If any of you have served, please email me ([email protected]) with the locations you were at and any pictures you might have from that time period. I need them by the end of the day on Monday.

Please help us out. We want to show that our Military members have been all across the world serving our country.
