Good Mornung Christopher!
All you Fireworks lovers come out and see your Christopher firefighters and say hello…and if that change or those bills are weighing your pocket down…feel free to pitch in for the cause. Your Christopher firefighters out this morning collecting the monies to keep our 4th of July show the best in the county for another year running 😉
It is with deep sadness that our officers, members and families extend our most sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Lt. Zachary Staggs, and his colleagues of the Royalton Fire Department for their loss. Please join us in continued prayers, outreach, and support for the family, our brothers and sisters of the Royalton Fire Department, and our neighboring community members as they mourn their loss of a beloved one to them all.
For all those that are inquiring….
Christopher Fire Department along with other members of multiple agencies responded tonight to a motor vehicle accident and a power pole struck and down, causing power to flicker inside areas of the city limits. It is unknow right now if incidents are related, and the matters are independently under investigation.
No Christopher Firefighting personnel were directly involved in either motor vehicle incident.
Thank you All for your continued support!

Your Christopher Firefighters Updating and Renewing their knowledge of potentially life saving measures to better serve our community and citizens! A Huge Thank you to Kevin Peterson from AMR for devoting his time and coming out to educate us on new practices, and ensure our skills are up to par and mesh well with the incoming EMS units! Another Huge Thank You to Matteo Manzella, aka Dimaggio’s Pizza for donating dinner to the crew! Good Job All!
Just….Wow…I am so proud of Christopher and the surrounding communities that have banded together to collect items of need for these small communities so heavily affected! You have all warmed my heart as well as the firefighters that worked to sort and box your donations for transport and delivery. I have never seen people happier to receive, and a more positive group through possibly the worst experience of their lives. They are Grateful! Great job to all! ❤️
I cant say enough words about all of the community members that rose to the occasion, and brought in donations of much needed items to our drive last night. Thank You all and God Bless you for your considerations and gifts to those who are hurting. I am very proud of the City of Christopher today, and Always for their caring of others! The drive will continue on until the need is no longer there, but I wanted to let all know that the first load will be headed South to the small community of Dawson Springs, KY, a town much like our own, on Saturday. Initially it was to be today, but figure it best to stay clear of the Politics. Please feel free to bring all donations in to the Fire Station, or may leave at City Hall should no one be around. They will get to those that need not only the relief, but also the smiles that the love for another we don't even know, may bring to them. Thank You to All from the bottom of our hearts here at the FD.

All of us sat together on the edges of our seats last night waiting and praying for the predictions of catastrophic weather to pass us by. Most of us were fortunate in seeing the fruits of our prayers and anticipation, but many our neighbors to the South were not, and are presently fighting loss of both property and loved ones, along with struggling to care for themselves and neighbors. I implore us all to reach out and help those brothers and sisters that are struggling, especially in the cold, and this time of year. The Christopher Fire Department along with other departments in the area will be accepting donations of supplies such as those listed in the attached message I have received from that area, and non-perishables, and anything else that we may be compelled to donate. No matter the size of the donations big or small, we will transport to the communities in need by weeks end. The station will be open Tuesday evening from 5 until 9, and for any other availability, please contact myself, Chief Tim Learned @ (618)-534-8583. Thank you to all willing to participate!
The Members of the Christopher Fire Department want to remind our friends, families, and citizens that it is that time of year again. Of all the electronics we keep in our homes, none are more important to maintain then our smoke detectors. It has been proven time and again... “Smoke Detectors Save Lives!” For yourselves, your loved ones, and those of us that care about our citizens...Change the Clocks...and Change the Batteries 👍🏼😁
Dry on Top and Wet under the brush make for dangerous burning conditions. We understand the weather is beautiful and Spring fever is stronger than ever after a year locked away, but please be responsible and safe for yourself, your family, your friends, and your neighbors...No Burning until ban has been lifted.
Thank You,
Christopher Fire Department

As you go about your routines and Monday morning struggles, please take the time to remember the cowardly attack that took place on our great nation so many years ago and took so much from us. Arisen from the Ashes.
A Happy Thanksgiving to all from us here at Christopher Fire Department! Remember the reason for the day, and keep thankful for your blessings. Be Safe and Stay Healthy as we gather and Celebrate!
It’s THAT time again! Change the Clocks, Change those Batteries!
Christopher Fire was dispatched last night @ approximately 10:15pm for a working structure fire in apartment building.
Thanks to quick work by local law enforcement officers with their extinguishers, the fire was initially knocked down while Fire arrived on scene for full extinguishment.
A big Thank You to our local Police Officers, and our Mutual Aide responders from Coello, and Ziegler Fire department, and Central Dispatch for keeping us talking!
Great work tonight Blue and Red Family!!
As we start our morning much the same as we did on this day 19 years ago, please take the time to remember those whose lives changed forever that day. Starting at approximately 08:45 on a clear Tuesday morning, nearly 3,000 Citizens from 78 Countries lost their lives. The attack in New York resulted in 2,763 lost souls, including 343 Firefighters and Paramedics, 23 NYPD officers, and 37 Port Authority officers. In the Pentagon attack, 125 souls were lost along with the 64 aboard the plane that crashed into the building. Lastly, the passengers of Flight 93 retook the cockpit to prevent the aircraft from reaching its final destination resulting in it crashing in a field in Pennsylvania, killing all 44 souls aboard.
Take time today to remember all lost on that day.
On this day...19 years ago 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift. None of them saw past 10:00 am Sept 11, 2001, not to mention all of the family and friends that this had an impact on. In one single moment life may never be the same.
Let us reunite in this country as we did Sept 12, 2001. God Bless you all from the Christopher Fire Department
Through the years, the Christopher Fire Department, and the citizens of Christopher have had the honor of service from many members of the Hampton family. It is now we do our best to return the servitude as we lift up thoughts and prayers for our brother "Little John Hampton", and his family as he fights to return home to his loved ones from the grips of COVID, and the toll it is taking on him. "You are all in our thoughts and Prayers"
- Christopher Fire Department-
To our Dear Citizens of Christopher:
Beginning this evening at 6pm, and periodically throughout the next couple of months, the Christopher Fire department will be testing and flowing the fire hydrants inside of our city limits.
Citizens may experience low flow at times of testing, and the potential for sink strainers to become clogged with some additional debris from the strong flows of the system.
We intend to do our best to let citizens know the areas we will be testing, and the days that may take place, so as to make aware those potentially affected.
Please remain patient, and supportive, and any questions might be directed to the Office of the Chief. This is necessary maintenance and testing, and while it may have a very minimum impact, the long term is for the benefit of the City and our Citizens.
Thank You and Take Care All,
Tim Learned

The commitment to "Basic Firefighter" is not a decision made lightly. It is a decision made to sacrifice your time with family and friends, and a new devotion to the 6 month or longer training period to better learn your craft.
Through the Hard work and diligence of the Instructors and staff of IFSI, that training challenge has been delivered to our more Rural communities, and eases the strained schedule of volunteers local and afar.
Today was the first day of class for many of our future firefighters and leaders of our departments, and I just wanted to say Thank You from this Chief to IFSI for making this a reality for so many, and Thank You to all of those choosing to make the commitment!
1st day of Basic Firefighter is in the books!
Let's keep them supported Christopher and working in the right direction.
