Jim Ned Youth Football ANNOUNCEMENT!

First i want to THANK YOU all for being so patient with us as we navigated through this years try outs and team selections. We appreciate everyone who came to tryout for youth football for this upcoming season. We had a great turnout and good news for everyone, if you tried out this year your child got a spot on the team they tried out for. We were thankful that nobody had to be cut for this upcoming season due to decrease in attendance and registration which doesn’t happen normally. With that being said we will post a link below for you to login in to complete your child’s registration. If you register and you were not on the tryout list then you will not be placed on a team this is ONLY for the kids who came to tryout and or filled out the tryout form that will be allowed to complete registration and attend fittings. Thank you again and congratulations on ALL these great kids this year.

Quick football update. We need some additional time to get football team notifications emailed out. We apologize but hope to have everyone notified by Tuesday, May 14th.

Football fittings will be held Thursday, May 16th from 6pm-8pm and Sunday, May 19th from 4pm-6pm so please go ahead and mark one of these dates on your calendar and plan to attend.

Remember tonight is the 1st cheer fitting for JN Youth Cheer, 6-8pm Tuscola Community Center!
Please bring or wear last years uniform if you have it, this will help with sizing for new uniforms. If you can’t make tonight’s fitting, the second and last one will be held on May 19th 6-8pm. You have to come to at least one of them if you are cheering to get a uniform ordered.

Cheer (ages Pre-k (4) through 6th grade) & Flag football (pre-K (4) - Kinder) registration opens at 7pm tonight, April 15th.

For the best experience we recommend you complete the registration from a computer.

Please remember you will need to upload a copy of your child's birth certificate to register. These are required to participate in the West Texas Rural Youth Football League (WTRYFL) in which we are a part of, no exceptions.

Registration will remain open until capacity for each division is reached or until Wednesday, May 1st at midnight, whichever comes first. Once capacity for each team is reached a waitlist will be activated to where you add your information. We cannot guarantee that a spot will come open but we will work through this list in order to fill an vacancies, should they arrive.

The optional back pack available in the cheer registration is the same blue, glittered back pack from last year. Only those new to the program may want to purchase for this year but please know they are optional and you are not required to purchase one.

For those wishing to try out for the tackle football teams. Please see our pinned post at the top of this page to sign up for tryouts. The first one is this Sunday, April 21st from 3-5pm (come and go). If selected for a team the registration fee will be $135 and you will complete your registration and equipment fitting in/around mid-May.

Registration Updates for Cheer & Football 2024
***Please, please, please read ALL the way through as this covers cheer & football information***

Registration for ALL Cheer squads ages (pre-k thru 6th) as well as Flag Football (pre-K (must be 4 by August 31st) & Kinder) will open on Monday, April 15th at 7pm.

Cheer will be considered competitive again this year with a league wide competition day to be held on November 10th.

Please remember you will register for the age group your child will be in next school year, NOT the grade they are currently in right now. If you are new to the league this year you will be required to upload a copy of your players birth certificate as well as proof of residency in order to submit your registration. Please have these documents available .

You must be currently attending JNCISD to register, except for those that will enter Pre-K or Kinder in the fall, although you MUST still currently reside in the district for those age groups.

Just as last year the cheer squads and flag football team will be capped at 24 participants per squad/team. These spots will be first come/first serve. Registration will remain open until capacity is reached or Wednesday, May 1st whichever happens first.

**We will have a waitlist option for this year so if a cheer squad or the flag football team hits capacity it will allow you to add your name to a waitlist. IF any spots become available, we will move participants in via the order of that waitlist so please don’t hesitate to register. **

Cheer fitting dates are mandatory and will be held on:
Tuesday, May 7th from 6pm-8pm
or
Sunday, May 19th from 6pm-8pm.
YOU MUST be registered and have a secured spot to attend fittings. It takes 10-12 weeks for uniforms to arrive so fittings are mandatory and you must be able to attend one of these two dates.

Tackle Football (1st thru 6th grades):
These three teams (1st & 2nd, 3rd & 4th, 5th & 6th) will again be capped at 24 players for the Fall 2024 season.
Tryouts for the football teams will be held on the dates/times below. You MUST attend one of the dates to be considered for the team, NO EXCEPTIONS. Please make arrangements to attend one of the dates below.

Sunday, April 21st OR Sunday May 5th – 3pm-5pm (come & go) @ Jim Ned Football Stadium

Homecoming Parade info:

Kids need to be to the stadium parking lot @ 2:10 wearing their jersey/cheer uniform. Just look for our league float when you arrive as we do not know our placement yet but will try to update that day once we know where they have us.

Parade will start at 2:30 and is running on a different route then last year. The parade will now finish at the Jim Ned Valley Church of Christ… it WILL NOT return to the stadium. All players MUST get off the float at the church and be picked up by parents/family from the church. A coach or team rep will remain at the church with the kids until pickup, we just ask that you do this as quickly and safely as you can.

It will be crazy and chaotic in that area so please use extra caution and have lots of grace and patience as we navigate these changes.

All players/cheer leaders must be signed out with a coach or float coordinator BEFORE they can leave, they are not allowed to walk home, to the store etc….

We also ask that you please make sure everyone has used the restroom before you drop them off as there is no one and no where to take them once they are on the float.

We sincerely apologize but there has been another schedule change for our games on Saturday, August 19th. The high school cross country meet has grown in size and needs additional time to accommodate the teams for their meet to be as successful as possible. In an effort to support their program and to avoid pushing games further into the heat of the day, Clyde has graciously offered to host the games for us. All games will now be back to original times (see below) but located in Clyde.

Game Schedule Change for Saturday, August 19th:

There has been a change in game schedule for this Saturday, August 19th. Due to the high school cross country meet going later than expected we will be pushing ALL game times back by one hour. Please see the updated game schedule below.

Please also know that anyone coming to the stadium prior to 10:00am on Saturday MUST enter the home stadium parking lot from the north entrance (via CR 131). Turner Lane will be closed just south & north of the Tuscola Community Center on Saturday morning until 10:00am. The parking lot behind the high school baseball field and access to the stadium from that direction will also be closed so please plan accordingly.
