The worst is not death but being blind, blind to the fact that everything about life is in the nature of the miraculous. The language of society is conformity; the language of the creative individual is freedom. Life will continue to be a hell as long as people who make up the world shut their eyes to reality. ~Henry Miller

How to stop time: kiss.
How to travel in time: read.
How to escape time: music.
How to feel time: write.
How to release time: breathe. ~Matt Haig

It has become clear to me that aging itself does not bring wisdom. It often brings regression to childishness, dependency, and bitterness over lost opportunities. Only those who are still intellectually, emotionally, spiritually growing inherit the richness of aging. ~James Hollis

Getting close to someone demands that we also get close to ourselves. That’s the nature of true intimacy. When our heart opens to another, it also opens to ourself. Love excavates everything alive within us- including our unresolved shadow- in an effort to bring all that we are into the light of connection. It wants the whole of us to be present for the experience. It wants the whole of us to heal. Then our experience of intimacy is something more than a reach for the other. It’s also a reach for ourselves. Not merely a fleeting adventure between two souls, but a truly transformative journey towards wholeness. ~Jeff Brown

When two people talk, they don’t just fall into physical and aural harmony. They also engage in what is called motor mimicry. If you show people pictures of a smiling face or a frowning face, they’ll smile or frown back, although perhaps only in muscular changes so fleeting that they can only be captured with electronic sensors. If I hit my thumb with a hammer, most people watching will grimace: they’ll mimic my emotional state. This is what is meant, in the technical sense, by empathy. We imitate each other’s emotions as a way of expressing support and caring and, even more basically, as a way of communicating with each other. ~Malcolm Gladwell

Promise Yourself to be so strong that nothing
can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity
to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel
that there is something in them
To look at the sunny side of everything
and make your optimism come true.
To think only the best, to work only for the best,
and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others
as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past
and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times
and give every living creature you meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world,
not in loud words but great deeds.
To live in faith that the whole world is on your side
so long as you are true to the best that is in you. ~Christian D. Larson

Day two of 7 days of honesty seeds (which sounds a bit odd)
And this one has a quote which I thought was by Lewis Carroll but I've since read this isn't the case. But they are not my words.
This time it's a gold picture with silver honesty seeds.
I painted this is November 2016 - can't believe so much has changed since then.
I remain full of self doubt when it comes to cats. They fall into the same category for me as polar bears and whales. I want to paint them all but lack confidence about doing so as I'm not quite sure if I can get their characters.
I always try to capture the personality of a creature when I paint it. Painting a whole picture becomes so much easier when you know their happy, sad, playful, sleepy and reflective moods. In the mean time, I continue to research and sketch until I get bold enough to try again.
Have a lovely Tuesday. We are preparing for strong winds tomorrow so everything is getting tied down and protected! A hold your hats day.
