Black Model, Gabriella Bernard, Forced To Chemically Relax Hair Or Get Eliminated From A Caribbean Modelling Show 22/09/2018

Watching this video really grieved me. Enough of this 'natural hair is unprofessional' nonsense! They could have simply used weave instead of forcing her to relax her hair. ๐Ÿ˜ก

Oils and butters do NOT moisturize!

Moisture comes from WATER and aqueous products whereas oils seal in moisture and should be applied on wet or damp hair to help the strands with moisture retention.

Light oils should be used for fine and/or low porosity hair while butters are better for thick and/or high porosity hair. ๐ŸŒบ

CURL ENHANCING vs CURL DEFINING
We all want our curls looking sharp and so need the right products. To style correctly we must know how a Curl Enhancer is different from a Curl Definer.

An enhancer usually has certain salt compounds which mend the weak salt (ionic) bonds which 'tighten' curls and cause shrinkage. This is especially useful for Type 2-3 curl types which have waves or big curls. Types 3C and up do not need this as their curls and coils are already tightly wound and instead tend to prefer elongation.

A curl definer is a product that separates and defines the curls to beautifully display their shape and character and usually adds hold. These include gels and custards. ๐ŸŒบ
