THE CORNERSTONE!

“Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; he that believeth shall not make haste.” Isaiah 28:16

AT HIS TABLE:

So what’s the big deal with a stone, or a cornerstone? This is not a pebble that we stand on, is it? No way! Nor is it a lie that we build upon! Jesus has laid the foundation, as we read,

“I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.” 1Corinthians 3:10

This foundation is much more than a little stone or a pebble that some accuser of the brethren might throw at his accused to make victim of him! This stone is a precious cornerstone full of the promises of God, full of his mighty words of truth, and fastened together by his covenant to his people so that they can stand and never be moved! Jesus is in fact the most important precious jewel of promise that builds our heavenly city, as we read,

“And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was Jasper; the second, sapphire; the third chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; the fifth , sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelth, an amethyst.” Revelation 21:19, 20

Many today want to stand and build their life upon the lies of idols, many choose to stand and build their life upon the security of money, and many will stand and build their life upon the works of their own hands, but as for the true Christian, we have a much more secure place to stand, a sure foundation which will never be moved. These gems, and jewels are God’s love for us that will never falter or fail!

WHAT WILL WE BUILD UPON…?

Come now let us reason together! Is it truly the wise man’s dream to build his life upon a pebble that will easily be pressed upon and collapse? A pebble that wavers at every blow of the wind? Or will the wise builder choose to make sure that the first stone that is laid will be a stone that is proven to hold all other stones in place at the blowing of any wind, no matter how fierce?

This stone is Jesus, it must be the first stone that we lay for our life, having in it all that Jesus promises, the chief cornerstone, the covenant of God, the promises of God for our life!

This stone must be our first stone of choice! A tried and proven stone, standing the test of many generations, and many storms!

Jesus is that sure foundation and anyone that builds upon him shall not make haste, they shall stand with confidence, and never ever have to scurry in fear to hold their life up during the difficult times that threaten to see their life tumble down! All who trust in Jesus will never be driven from their feet in terror, but they will stand firm in perfect peace!

A CALL TO SERVICE

He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments, and took a towel and girded himself.” John 13:4

IN JESUS TODAY:

So what time is it in your life? The reason why we all need to ask this of ourselves is because the Lord instructs us to be aware of what time it is, and to learn to number our days, as we read David saying,

“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts to wisdom.” Psalm 90:12

And James,

“Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a v***r that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” James 4:14

So what will we do with our life? How much time is left? And how can we do well unto our Lord and King?

These questions are just a few that we can answer by simply following the actions that Jesus took when the hour for him to depart out of this world had come, as we read,

Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.” John 13:1

WHAT WILL BE OUR FINAL ACTIONS OF LOVE…?

We see here Jesus fully aware of what time it was, and how many days he had left, taking some of his final actions of love, beginning by serving those he loved by washing their feet.

On this day take time to think of what your final actions of love might be. What plans of love will you implement while you still have time here on earth? And most importantly where will you and your loved ones go when the time here on earth is over?

First and foremost salvation is our number one priority, it is an act of love to reach out and lead our loved ones to Jesus, secondly that we all realize what time it is and all the events that are happening around us, and finally we must know what we all must do TODAY and the days that remain to serve others in the love of Christ Jesus.

THE LORD GIVES WISDOM

“For the Lord gives wisdom, from His mouth comes knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2:6

AT HIS FEET:

There are many benefits of wisdom especially moral benefits, yet many still do not know how to obtain it. Here a Father tells his son how to receive wisdom.
First he instructs his son to accept his words, as we read,

"My son if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom." Proverbs 2:1

We see the Father’s first instruction is to accept his words and that his son turns his ears to wisdom. How many times have we ignored or turned away wise council? This ignoring or turning away is merely a prideful response to advice that we are given, leading us away from the very words that will help us escape future troubles. How can we respond differently? By accepting that God wants what is best for us and by turning to His words of instruction and by denying the lies that hold us captive. There is a way that seems right to us, as we read,

“There is way that seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Proverbs 4:12

CALL OUT FOR INSIGHT…

Sometimes wisdom is right here, we just have to ask, we only have to admit that we need help, that we need guidance and the very moment that we lay down our pride and call out for assistance, God gives to us wisdom and understanding, as we read,

“Indeed if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver, and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.” Proverbs 2:3-5

Calling out… It seems so easy right? Yet pride prevents us from even the easiest of things in life. Deny your prideful responses and accept God’s words of instruction.

Click here to receive Jesus today and lay your troubles at his feet trusting God our Father to give to us wisdom and understanding in our time of need.

CONSIDER OTHERS!

"Let nothing be done through strife or vain glory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves, Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others." Philippians 2:3,4

AT HIS FEET:

Kindness and brotherly love will always prefer others before ourselves, there is an order to life that will make a difference. God first, but when God is truly first, others are always on our mind and in our heart also. It is impossible to put God first in our lives and not love others, because God is love.

If we love God we will love others, as it is written,

"Beloved let us love one another; for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not, knoweth not God; for God is love." 1John 4:7,8

And also, "Beloved if God so loved us, we ought to love one another." 1John 4:11

In lowliness of mind we do not scramble to understand how we can do well for ourselves, we simply do our all for God and for others, this is doing well in life and all else will then work to our good.

Let us put off the desire to always have more in life and be content with what we have. In doing this we will be better focused on helping another. Let us also put down for a time, all that is ours, in order to take up and work along side someone else, so that their life becomes better.

It's not wrong to say, "I've done all I can do, so now let me focus on you!" Living to help others is loving God.

GIVE THANKS UNTO THE GOD OF HEAVEN AND FOR HIS GREAT LOVE AS WE CONSIDER OTHERS ABOVE OURSELVES!

ALL THINGS NEW!

"Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;" Luke 3:5

OUR CHALLENGE TODAY:

When we come to Jesus there are four things that happen in our lives to prepare us in the way of the Lord.

First, "every valley shall be filled": the low spots in our life and the empty places in our heart are filled. Jesus fills our heart with peace and joy in the places where our heart was once empty and void. All of the low times in our life are soon forgotten and replaced with hope for the future,

Second, "every mountain and hill shall be brought low": What seemed to us before as impossible to climb or too much to bear, Jesus brings truth and reveals to us the power that we have in him to overcome our difficulties, i.e.

"I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me."

The impossible mountains are no longer impossible, the huge heights are no longer so high that we can't manage to climb them,

Third, "the crooked shall be made straight": God's truth takes the deceit away, what was once unclear and crooked is revealed to us so that we now can see straight. our ways are no longer bent before us and we now walk a straight path,

"Straight is the way and narrow is the path that leadeth unto righteousness",

all the lies are gone and truth prevails in our life!

And finally, "the rough ways shall be made smooth": where before we were kicking against the pricks, resisting God's ways, and it presented us with many hardships, now the hardships are quickly made into a smooth path and a life of peace as Jesus takes control.

"Prepare ye the way of the Lord and these four will bring to your life the greatest contentment, God's desire for us, and gift to all who believe on him. Receive Jesus today and allow him to work in your life!

02/06/2024

THROUGH IT ALL!

“And oftentimes it hath cast him both into the fire and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do anything, have compassion on us, and help us.” Mark 9:22

HOPE FOR TODAY:

Troubles in our life have a way to cause us to flop around like a fish, or to be tossed to and fro like a tumbleweed in the storms of life! These troubles can toss us about the waters and cast us into the fire, just as we have read here, both into the fire and into storms. The intense heat of the battles that we are in or the seemingly drowning waters teach us to cry out to Jesus, crying out to Him,

“SAVE US O GOD!”

“If though cast do anything!” O, YES HE CAN! JESUS IS ABLE TO SAVE! This “if” is not any different than our hope in Jesus. Here we see a man, just as we are, hoping for some help, and what does Jesus do? Jesus answers his hope, but guess what Jesus did to answer his hope! Jesus answered it by saying to this man’s “if” with an “if” of His own, listen to Jesus’ and the “if” as He says,

“Jesus said unto him, “If” thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”

Do you have an “if” for Jesus today? Take this “if” of yours, and exchange it with the “if” that Jesus sends to us! “IF THOU CANST BELIEVE!” Jesus is able! This is what we stand on, and through Jesus we always prevail! Jesus leads us through all of these floods and fires to show us that the “if thou canst do anything” question that we share with Him will be answered absolutely with YES HE CAN, “if though canst believe” God never says that we will not have troubles, but He wants us to know that our troubles are teaching us to believe in His Son’s ability to save us through them all!

Everytime we call on Jesus believing that he can, we can see His hand lifting us up out of our troubles.

WE PUT ON GARMENTS OF PRAISE WHILE HE PUTS ON GARMENTS OF VENGEANCE! ISAIAH 59-61

31/05/2024

CONTINUE FORWARD!

“But ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations!” Luke 22:28

HOPE FOR TODAY!

NEVER GIVE UP! As some of Jesus’ disciples did as soon as they learned of troubled times they gave up! Many turned away at the mention of His capture while in the Garden, and when they learned of His coming persecution they gave up and left Him. This is not the true mark of a Christian, that we should fall away when trouble comes, but rather that we should settle into that firm foundation in which we have our roots, deep roots of Jesus within that cannot be moved even by the greatest of avalanches of trouble,

WE WILL NOT RUN AWAY…

Are we constant? Are we steadfast? And Are we reliable? It is more than simply noteworthy that we should be anchored and even attached to the right hand of Jesus our Father whenever trouble comes our way. Nothing will separate us!

Can we be counted on when times get tough, Oh I know it is one thing to answer yes to this, but is there a time in which we are doubting and say, “Only time will tell!” ? Some might even ask, “Well what will I get out of it?” If they should find that the rewards might be well enough for them then they might stay with Jesus or with us as Christians, but will they be there through it all?
Do you know that Jesus is with you through it all?

Jesus never leaves you, nor forsakes you! Will you run to the next church family when things don’t seem to go as you think that they should, or will you stay with your family through it all? Jesus teaches us to be faithful in good times and bad, this is the Christian way!

We are known by our character. Let us continue forward, laying aside these thoughts of taking flight when trouble hits, and rather let us dig in and take our stand for God’s righteous truth!

Remember there is a great crowd of witnesses that are watching us as a family.

OF GREAT EFFECT!

“Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition which ye have delivered: and many such like things ye do.” Mark 7:13

AT HIS TABLE:

How is it possible that the mighty word of God would be of no effect? This same word that created the heavens and the earth and all that is within? Say it isn’t so! But yes many people have chosen to minimize the power of God’s word in their life, simply by choosing to do what seems right to them, or by doing what has always been done throughout history by the many people who keep the traditions of men.

These traditions, such as Santa Claus, Peter Cotton Tail, Cupid, and many more are fun and bring joy, but they also steal away the true meanings of God’s messages of The Birth of Our Savior, Salvation by His Grace, The Healing by His Stripes, The Power of His Resurrection, God’s love for us by giving, and much more! Many marketing groups will say where’s the increase in this? They will say these traditions are a must! Everyone does it! You have to have them! But there is no Godly power in them.

THERE IS WONDER WORKING POWER…

By putting aside all that God’s words tell us many are laying aside the great power of God, wherein we can know that we need God to guide us, wherein we can see His Salvation, His Healing, His Grace and Mercy, His Love for Us, and His Power of His Resurrection and Restoration. These are great needs that are simply pushed aside for a repeated yearly tradition that drains us and prevents us from being revived in strength. These traditions are a deceitful meat if you will that imitate the same effects that sugary sweets have on many. Taste good, but has no nutritional value, feels good, but leaves us drained, looks great, but denies the truth, sounds awesome, but denies us from having a true faith in God. There is no power in these traditions.

To have a great effect in our life we must put God and His word first above all things and walk in His word of power! God’s word has always and will forever have a great effect in the creation of all good things, and in the restoration of our life. The word of God calls us into the grace of Christ, while these tradition pervert the Gospel of Christ which is God’s grace on our life!

Truth in Healing, Truth in Power, and Truth in Grace, God’s unmerited favor is for us all. Let us put away traditions that lie to us in order to take from the truth of God in our life, and to leave us of little power.

JESUS IS FULL OF GRACE AND TRUTH AND IS ALWAYS OF GREAT EFFECT!

GOD’S LEADING!

“The Lord had said to Abram; Leave your native country, your relatives, and your Father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you.” Genesis 12:1

AT HIS TABLE:

“The Lord said” these three words stand out taking the lead of all that is to come next, without apology these words stand up and grab the attention of all that would be listening. So how is it that we can have his leading in our life? It is clear and will never be hidden, we are to know what the Lord says if desire to follow his leading. Have you spent some time with the lord Jesus lately?

In order to know God’s leading, what he says or what he has said there are actions that we must take. These actions include, reading our Bible it is also known as “The Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth” and as we talked about yesterday, we should seek to call upon the lord and listen for his voice. There are certain things that God wants you to know, such as,

God wants you to know that He is true to His word and that He will do all that He has promised to do, as we read,

“My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.” Isaiah 46:10b, 11b

DISCERNING WHAT IS GOOD...

“For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;” Colossians 1: 9,10

God wants to lead us and will not withhold any good thing from us.
Are you willing to allow Jesus to lead you? Will you follow him wherever he leads?

If so, it is guaranteed that God will give to us the best in life!

OUR ROOTS IN JESUS!

“And when the sun was risen, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.” Mathew 13:6

IN JESUS TODAY:

In the world of gardening a root is what anchors a plant to the ground, this root absorbs the water and all of the nutrients from the ground that the plant will need to grow. Every plant draws its strength from its roots. And we are also plants in the world of life, so then the question becomes, do you have roots, yes, of course, but are your roots in Jesus?

Another example of a root comes from the mathematical world, it is actually a number that multiplies itself by its same character, and yields many more of that same number. So then the same question applies, do you have your roots in Jesus? For example a person who calls themselves Christian will have their roots in Christ Jesus and will then multiply in character and in numbers that will yield other like-minded Christians that will also have their roots in Jesus and grow, and spread.

HAVING OUR ROOTS IN JESUS

In Jesus we live and move and have our being, and living, moving, and having our being is supported by having our roots in Him, as we read,

“For in him we live, and move, and have our being, as certain also of your own poets have said, for we are his offspring. Acts 17:28
Jesus is everything. And if we abide in him, taking root in him we can ask anything of him, as we read,

“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” John 15:7

“And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” Mathew 21:22

My friend take root in Jesus and draw from him all that you need, lest you wither away just as we read here of the seed that the sower planted and it had no root.

WAIT ON JESUS!

"And to wait for his son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come." 1Thessalonians 1:10

OUR CHALLENGE TODAY:

Wait on Jesus! He has delivered us from the wrath that is to come. If you are seeking his glory, wait on him. Wait on Jesus, and you will see these things come to pass. As it is written,

"To them by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life." Romans 2:7

God will render unto us according to our hope when we wait on Jesus, we are waiting for our place in heaven, those that desire to go to heaven will look for Jesus to come and meet us, as it is written,

"For our conversation is in heaven, from whence also we look for the savior, the Lord Jesus." Philippians 3:20

Wait on Jesus! Wait and we shall see him, he is coming for those that through faith are watching and waiting, as we read,

"Behold he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen." Revelation 1:7

Jesus is coming soon...

As the time goes and the waiting continues, our faith grows, because we remember his words, and we see them coming to pass, and these events that he spoke of are becoming clear, as it is written,

"As the days of Noah, (Genesis 6) were, So shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Mathew 24:37

Watch and pray! Look to the clouds, And wait on Jesus, he is coming soon to bring you with him to that mansion in the sky! That eternal life prepared for those that wait for his coming!

THE GREAT COMMISSION IS OUR MISSION!

"No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light." Luke 8:16

IN JESUS TODAY:

"Ye are the light of the world." Mathew 5:14a Why are you the light? Because you have something that the world needs. If you're in a desert place with several other individuals and there is a great need for water, but you are the only one that has it, then you have become very important! You are able to quench the thirst of others and to save lives! If you're driving in a car with several others that are riding with you, and the car is soon to run out of fuel, but no one but you has any money to purchase that fuel, you now have become very important! You have the money to pay for fuel that everyone needs.

WE ALL NEED JESUS...

It's the same in this world. People need Jesus. You have him, and you are surrounded by many that don't have Jesus, so now you have become very important, now you can quench their thirst, you can bring peace to their hearts and minds, now you can lift up and encourage the downcast, now you can bring fuel to their life, and now you can lead them to Jesus who will save their soul. You are very important! You have what the world needs! Jesus in you, the light of the world, the water in the desert places, the fuel in this life's journey. You have it! Don't hide it! Share with those that do not have what you have.

Imagine being in these places and you are the one that has a need, but someone else is the only one around you that has what you need. What would it be like if they refuse to share it with you! What would it be like if you are dying and you can't get it? What will it be like if you couldn't go on one more day or one more mile without it? How would you feel towards that person that has it, but doesn't care enough to share?

COUNT THE COST BEFORE YOU BEGIN!

"For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Luke 14:28

AT HIS TABLE:

What are the possible costs? I mean, really? Following Jesus is like just going to church every other week on Saturday or Sunday, having fun talking with friends, listening to music, and a few words from a person at the pulpit, right? That's easy who couldn't do that? Hello! This is not the following Jesus that the Bible talks about, the true cost and true following Jesus is this,

"And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple." Luke 14:27

We have to bear our cross and how many know that this cross can be heavy? Let me give you an example, In Daniel chapter 6, Daniel and two others were in charge of 120 princes in the Kingdom where Darius ruled. One day, because of jealousy, these other two and the 120 princes came against Daniel because he was in charge over all of them. So they crafted a plan in order to remove Daniel from his position. After talking about it they were resolved to find that they would be unable to find anything against Daniel because he was faithful and had no fault, so they made a plan to change a law. The former law allowed for people to pray to God, but now the new law with its new changes forbid anyone to ask in prayer for 30 days to any God, accept to the King.

IF ANYONE …

If anyone was found praying or asking God anything on these days they would be cast into a lion's den. Hey! Now we see that it could cost our life! Daniel was thrown into the Lion's Den, but he knew this, that once the law was changed, he would continue to pray as before and if caught, he knew that it could cost him his life! Daniel lived despite this order that caused him to be placed in a lion's den for praying to God, he was with the Lion's, but God gave Daniel peace and rescued him.

Count the cost my friends, are you prepared to walk this walk with your cross if the laws change? Stand in the face of change and represent Jesus at any cost!
