Schurz is at it again! Another Posse scholar and a Gates into the 2nd round. Congrats Kristal and Victor!

Awesome job AVID Sophs! Yesterday we distributed food to over 150 families. We also toured Wright College and learned about dual enrollment and special scholarships.

Congrats to the 1st AVID graduates-all 80-of them. Bright futures ahead with vivid memories of 4 great years! Honored to be their teacher and love them all!

HUGE Thank you to Danny C., Jennifer V., Eunice Z. for their AWESOME presentations to the incoming freshmen. SHOUT OUTS to the AVID JROTC for their help during orientation guiding students and parents to all the right places. You all were great and made me so proud to be your teacher!

Visit your favorite colleges. Here is what I found so far: Columbia 2 times a day Monday -Thursday. Dominican Fridays August 12&19th; Lake Forest Oct 10; UIC August 30 and 31 at 10AM; DePaul Monday-Saturday 2 different times; Valparaiso Sept 24th (saturday); University Western Michigan 3 times a day! Sign up through each school's website and get your feet on their turf!

Very proud of all the AVID student leaders working Freshmen Connections at school. You are doing a great job! AND kudos to all AVID AP Calc students taking Ms. Rak's summer seminar. I am proud of your commitment and keep up the good work.

Congrats and High Five to Beba for successfully completing her ACT test. We now have 100% completion for our senior class. Great Job!

Congrats and High Five to Michii for being accepted to Just the Beginning Foundation Summer Legal Institute here in Chicago. She will receive training in pursuing a legal career and even participate in a mock trial in front of a real judge in court. Way to go!
